You could always grab a fully depreciated low mileage daily driver to enjoy while you wait? They exist.

I grabbed a 15 year old low mileage Base model (less desirable amongst the experts)

I've had it for about 9 months and it's been bullet proof and a blast. Got it so cheap I'll just keep it, I think.

I have a hard time imagining that there are "good deals" out there on used vehicles unless you're buying privately (and from someone who doesn't know the current market). I just sold my 2019 CRV for more than i paid for it when we bought it new.

I will completely agree with you that traditional "good deals" are in short supply. I am blessed to have done business with some folks in the business for many years and have purchased a couple of used vehicles in the last year for prices that do not reflect the current widespread pricing pressure.
I admit not everyone would have such access, but there are still good deals to be had.
