Just to confirm, you have the Ford Charge Station Pro that will be supplied to everyone that has the F150 Lighting with the extended range battery and it does not have the CCS1? If so, that is great news!
The 80 amp charge station pro that comes with the lightning has the J1772 for charging and the CCS to back feed the house when the power goes out. The CCS will not charge the car.

Yes Mickey you are correct sir. However, I am not planning on getting an ER battery with my Lighting so I will not be getting a station with my purchase. If I ever get a chance to put an order in for a Lighting. The Charge Station Pro was around $800 direct from Ford. It DOES NOT have a CCS1 connector. I believe that is for DC fast charging only.

I think the kid (electrician) charged us $400 to install. Telling you - this is the way to go...that is just about the cost of a couple of trips to the gas station these days.

Seriously!? You do not have Ford Charge Station Pro, for the simple reason that Ford (Sunrun) has not delivered a single one, Heck, they haven't even announce pricing for one. $800 is the price of Ford Connected Charge Station, which had been around for about a year.

The J1772 charge cable connector, which comes with the vehicle for home charging, is simply a 240v Level 2 EVSE cable/module, and plugs into the 'top' section of the truck's plug-in charge port. It can also provide the lower Level 1 charging, from a standard 120v outlet, with the adapter.

The BOTTOM section of the truck's charging port, though, houses the DC power pins, requiring a much larger and different 'CCS' charging cable, which 'combines' the top 240v and bottom DC power pins, for 'fast charging' at special charge stations.

The Pro Charge 80amp system, which can provide the 'whole house' power, uses the much large CCS Combo charge connector, rather than the regular J1772 connector, because the system ALSO needs to access the DC power output to provide this 9.6kw of power, via an additional INVERTER installed at the home, to change that DC battery power BACK into 240v power.

So. the Pro Charge system is totally different that the other 3 options, which include the 120v adapter with the J1772 connector, or the 240v 30amp with the J1772 connector, or the larger option, the 48amp with the J1772 connector.

Ford pulled down that requirement because it was wrong. It is also based on the backup power usage and not the charging side of things. For charging, it all depends on the other electrical loads in your house. I have a 150A panel, but very few other loads (everything is natural gas). We had an electrician come out and verify that we won't have any issues. We put in the 100A circuit already (wiring anyways), but only have a 40A EVSE on it right now for my Wife's Mach-e. I didn't want to pay to have wire pulled twice!
Speaking of that...do you have a good local electrician you can recommend?(serving Niskayuna) You can PM me if you don't want to respond here.

I'm getting an ER truck and will probably have sunrun install the Charge Station Pro but likely won't use the vehicle to grid backup because I already have solar + batteries. Don't want the wear and tear on the battery + I have no idea if Sunpower will be able to tie everything in to my existing Enphase Encharge setup

No issues giving them shout out. We used Mel Carr electric to put in our EVSE. They were both skilled and professional with fair price. I would use them again.

Hey @Administrator, would you be so kind as to carve out the charger content into a new thread? There is some good stuff here but it doesn't belong in a Wave 4 thread.

Thanks!

Ford F-150 Lightning Wave 4 invitation - did you get one?? 1645550168123

I spoke with my dealer (Evergreen in Issaquah WA) and they have been allocated 6 Lightnings. Guess I'm not going to get one in the first year. Spoke to another dealer (Bowen Scarff) and they have been allocated 3. Hope prices don't go up too much.

If it helps you feel any better they'll be making MY2023 this Fall. This means we may still be eligible for that sweet $7,500 tax credit before it tapers off next year.

Yes, the same thing happened to me. I called ford and they said it was an 'IT problem' and that there was nothing that they could do. They suggested that I order through the dealer. Maybe someone from @Ford Motor Company will see this post and can help. I'd rather not order through the dealer. Seems like something my mom would do.
Seems Ford might have fixed their site tonight. Myself and others that were getting an error are now able to submit orders.

We reserved at about the same time, I'm in Mass (A ZEV state) and got a Wave-3 invitation to order.

I think only high level Ford Corp folks know the big picture of how many invitations have been sent the first 4 waves to date. But going with the rumored 15,000 to be built in model year 22, then 4/6th of that have been sent by now +/- speculation
I finally got some info from my dealer, which is the biggest Ford dealership in Colorado. They only got one invitation in wave 1, and that guy canceled his order (!!), then none in wave 2, then 3 in wave 3, and 2 in wave 4. I'm supposed to be 7th in line so maybe I'll be in wave 5. Hard to believe so few.

Think Wave 5 and 6 will be over the next few weeks on schedule with previous waves?

I think it will stay on track, it would be interesting if they bump up the number of invites to fill out the potential build year rather than running a clean-up & balancing wave after 3/31
