Has anyone done this? Pic below.
My truck was built in April and really don’t know how to check if I need to do this upgrade. My license expired and I want to wait a few days to see how the truck reacts to the updates I did.

Your up to date so you're good to go, FDRS won't work for this but, FORScan will. There is a thread here that'll help you out. You can use the NANO for this as well....

Been driving around for almost a month with my USB stick in. Anyone herd anything from Ford about any official?

Seems like the other threads with the 1.7.1 issue the official fix is supposed to be "soon".

I do need to visit them for the drive shaft recall, but was thinking about trying to keep it to a single trip..

Curious if anyone else gets the "Cannot communicate with VCM" when trying to update the ABS module? Wonder if it needs to see an actual VCM to do the upgrade or if its a bug in FRDS version 31.6.4?

I have been using VXDIAG NANO & FDRS updating various modules in Job 1 truck. I have had some successes. I have lost the heated steering wheel and heated seats functions ( buttons do not work) and my FDRS runs out today. Any idea where I might look to get these features back online?

Sounds like you had a BCM update that may not have been completed correctly or got corrupted. PM me your VIN and I'll look at your AsBuilt data.

Ive been trying for the last couple days to nail down the issues with the IPC. I cant. I cant say one way or another. Ive spent too much time on it as it is.

If you have updated it seems that it will be ok. I looked at JEBs vin verified his installed. Then I looked at someone else and his failed. I dont know to what extent his failed. When looking at his logs it shows it cant even ping the IPC anymore. His cluster may outwardly show no signs of an issue. The update I did failed miserably to the extent a gauge was missing from the top. I have another person that is extremely smart and very adapt at working with these and had an issue.

All I can say is proceed with caution.. I cant really offer more than that. I know it doesnt help. I just cant spend anymore time. Im waiting for the update as of now.

Not good news at all. Can I send you my VIN to see if it was successful?

For what it’s worth, I think you are ok. I looked at the as-built data you posted earlier. Your file versions for nodes F120 and F188 are the same as mine. They also match two files in the STRATEGY folder I found in the FDRS directory stored on my laptop.

It's more than that... @Jesse-Infotainment looked at the logs from his end and I only got the one file when there's supposed to be 3 and mine shows failures... If I can find someone with a 5.0L that has the 3 files I have some thoughts and yes, I'm crazy... :p

Initially, mine showed a failure as well. After the USB attempt, I got a failure, followed by an attempted CAN bus attempt, which also failed. I finally completed the install with a PMI, which I think not only corrected the errors but finished the software update.

The reason I was focusing on nodes F120 and F188 is because Jesse sent me a screenshot example of a failure which showed two files being loaded at those nodes (I don’t know where this third file factors in—the screenshot only shows two nodes and the two files FDRS attempted to load into those nodes). In that screenshot, there was a failure at F120 and a success at F188. But I show files at F120 and F188 that match the files downloaded by FDRS for installation. Those files match your as-built data.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted out.

I have a XLT 302 High 5.0L. I updated the IPC a couple of weeks ago and never had an option to do via usb, it updated via CAN bus and took about 6.5 hrs to complete. I did not receive any errors during the install. I have had successful Sync updates including 2.3.0. My updates were done with a full chip VCM 2 which i had used with my old 2002 F150 and IDS.

Not sure if it just coincidental, but after receiving the 2.3 update, my transmission shifting got wonky and shifts horrible now. I already completed the adaptive table reset in FDRS and also in Forscan, but still is not as smooth as it was. Downshifts to 1st and at a complete stop reminds me of the old slip bump from the driveshaft at a stop on my old 2018 f150. I have about 5100 miles now on my truck now. what are some thoughts on this?

How do I perform a reflash of the PCM/TCM software if I do not have an update for those modules? Hoping that could correct my issues I am now having with shifting?

As far as transmission goes I had issues similar to yours and the dealer did a Transmission valve body main control break in procedure and it helped a lot.

I had the same situation on my XLT (302a 5.0L Feb 2021 build 8" cluster) as well. About a 6 hour IPC update with no USB option.
This is what I show now..

I got the IPC to finally go after 2 GW updates, 1 TCU update and 1 APIM update. I also got my ABS update done as well. IPC will be 1 part USB and 1 part CAN programming if it completes properly. No If I can only figure out why I've lost my connected navigation, securialert, zone lighting but still have horn and lights??
