I never stated or implied that Ford would stop production.
I did, however, imply that they are moving up the MY22 to 23 changeover date. In order to be able to charge more people the presumably higher 2023 pricing.
Same difference.

Goodbye. Your conspiracy theories and negative attitude no longer amuse me. Welcome to the ignore list

Put a reservation in the first night, right after the website opened. I ordered after having a MME (my wife's car) for a few months and really liking the build and engineering of MME. I chose a larger dealer here in San Diego, Ken Grody Ford for volume size and that they stated they won't be charging an ADM. I've never purchased from this dealer so I was surprised they chose me as one of their first orders, I was in wave 4. If you're in San Diego, KGF has been great so far, they check in with me frequently.

SOL at #2 on my dealers list. OK, I could still get a 2023 but now there's this diminishing tax credit thing and who knows how much they will jack up MSRPs.
Hopefully they will learn from Rivian that you need to hold the price for long term reservations holders.

I saw a post yesterday saying ford sold a little over 13,000 electric vehicles in first quarter..add that to the 160K orders they had and they currently around 173-174K EVs sold. So roughly 26k more orders to go before EV refund starts going down.

I *think* that 13,000 number was worldwide. The US number(which is what matters for IRS Tax credit) was actually around 6700.

https://insideevs.com/news/577859/us-ford-mache-sales-march2022/

"During the first quarter, Ford sold a total of 6,734 Mach-E in the US (up 1.8% year-over-year)."

Also,
"Ford revealed also that 528 Ford E-Transit vans were sold in March, compared to 7,736 of all Transit vans (down 28.1%), which is a 6.8% share. Sales started in February with more than 10,000 orders on hand.

Unfortunately, Ford does not report sales of other plug-in models, like the Ford Escape PHEV. Lincoln's PHEV sales were not revealed either."

So if we take the EV total at the end of 2021-- 159.588-- and add ~7200 we get to 166,788.

If Ford sells as many EVs in 2022 as 2021 that puts us over the 200k mark in q1 2023. Adding the expected uptick of Lightning and e-Transits I think q4 2022. That means full credit thru q1 2023.

Its interesting to note that Toyota is approaching the 200,000 tax credit. I know they don't have a robust EV program(yet) but do get a credits for their PHEVs. It will be interesting to see if Toyota starts lobbying hard for an extension/revision of the tax credits. Also recall that Toyota is a huge donor to Sen Manchin and has economic ties in WV.
