Thanks for sharing! Tomorrow I have a whole video on a standard battery Pro trim. Really loved the truck and want to find a pretty standard truck to use on the upcoming Out of Spec Ranch! Seriously great machine.

Kyle
Thanks for giving the Pro some attention to! I've been starved for non-Lariat content

the acceleration/braking nanny voice that was in one video hopefully should be something we can turn off. He mentioned it was a fleet training mode, hopefully not something on retail trucks.
I don't hear it? Watch the out of spec one, tune in to around 20 mins. Kyle (who posted above) talks about how insanely silent it is.

Alright, I know one of you have already streamed all of these, perhaps 3 simultaneously. Can you give us the proper viewing order for maximum enjoyment and which one is nails on chalkboard level avoidance?
Out of spec for all nerdy stuff
TFL for speed and tow
Redline around 15min mark does nice interior review. Then it’s just him accelerating everywhere.
Cars.com for a guys who’s not full fan boying

I didn’t watch all of them but after that most of these you can scrub, it press packet footage and walk arounds.

Thanks for your video Kyle...

I had high expectations and you managed to meet them :)

Waiting for the Standard battery review, really interested in finding out why Ford "derated" the charge speeds there (120kW max vs 155) if you have that information.

It's in the Edmunds review, when he accelerates out of a stoplight

This answers questions a lot of people had. Expect 50%+ range loss and even worse when it’s cold out.
I think this is in line with what many of us were expecting. It’s not going to be a great vehicle for long distance towing on the Interstate.

But for myself and many others, we don’t do that kind of long-distance RVing. We camp within a fairly tight radius from home and I usually top out at 90 km/h (55 mph). I can easily get to most spots without DCFC and I can charge the truck at the campground for more range.

Plus my cold weather usage and towing usage don’t overlap, so no problem there.

Kyle. You crushed it. True pro. Thank you. Great detailed information and delivered in a consumable fashion for those of us just starting to learn about EV terminology and technology. You got a new subscriber, here. Nicely done.

Thanks for finding that answer!

Still don't understand the obsession of 0-60 times when most of us don't live on a racetrack.

I live in a very urban city and don't get to accelerate 0-60 unless the freeways are clear which most of the times they are not.

Is this obsession to compete with Tesla, Rivian, etc ???
Or is this from the big ICE engined V8 folks trying to compare ?

I guess I am getting old....😕

Out of spec confirming the charging curve keeps 150-120kw up to 80%, no 5 second limitation from Mach-E. Please ford, I can only contain so much excitement
Ford if you're listening.. consider moving the charging "cliff" from 80% to 90%. If you did that then I think charging would be about as good as you can get with a 400v system. A flat 150-120 curve 5-90% would be sweet for how most of us road trip. That would get you ~225 -250mi range in say 30min? That's a lunch stop.

Maybe Ford can implement this over OTA if they see the batteries are holding up. You could also put a thermal condition on it...only allow it under cooler battery conditions. If you are cruising on a road trip you are putting much less stress than performance driving(like Kyle) or heavy hauling.

EDIT: Increasing the 125KW threshold to say 90% would save us roadtrip folks a few minutes. :)

I know the past two years have felt like an eternity, for a number of reasons. Some of us have consumed every piece of info as it left people's lips or keyboards and that has left us expecting more and more and more. If you stand back and consider that this thing wasn't even a thing 3 years ago (maybe in some back room at Ford, but not in our conversations) and the fact that they did the reveal and opened reservations only one year ago with a prototype... and here we are expecting deliveries of this amazing vehicle. It's really moving at the speed of light(ning). For those of you unimpressed with features (or towing), gas models are still available. Your friends will "still" like you even if you don't have the cool F150. Will this truck work for every last truck owner on the planet? Absolutely not. I don't think Ford was remotely going for that angle this time around. Will this appeal to a lot of folks who drive "city trucks" (they never see dirt roads) and Home Depot weekend warriors? For the plumbing company up the street? For a contractor who gets "off road" when he drives into the site? Yes. And that's a LOT of the F150's they currently sell. So this will be successful and will only get better as newer models come out and especially as battery tech evolves. For those who have trucks coming, enjoy them! Happy hump day!

Interesting. Seems like the Platinum that TFL had took ~4.5 to 60 whereas the Lariat that Redline had was ~4.1. That was apparently at 80% SoC charge which is pretty good. I wonder if it can crack the 3s when at 100%. I notice a difference even going from 90 to 100% in my Model S.

9.39s to 60 when towing the 8300 pound boat. Wow.
On a prepped Track I think it might be possible to get in to the high 3's

After watching the reviews I think the Lighting has enough capability in so many areas it will cover 80 maybe 90% of use cases with the current f150 . The long haul tow people(5th wheel campers and the like) excluded with range, the f150 heavy haulers(who really probably should have an f250), etc.

I think Ford has a hit on its hands here..it does so many things so well. It will be interesting to see in a few years how the silverado EV will/can compete. GM has been going with the line of an EV specific platform advantage, but honestly this shows that EV can be adapted to an ICE platform and perform really well. I think even most reviewers are surprised at how well sorted it is. Is there that much of an advantage to an EV specific platform? I guess we'll find out, but also do the EV specific advantages outweigh the disadvantages(Higher cost, more R&D, lass crossover with ICE--parts, vehicle accessories, etc)

Not with that traction control system. Why they can't lay some equal power down and not let the front wheels slip. Why Ford? - tighten this up. Lets see those OTA updates in action.
