That was how I got it. Apparently you can get it from the visibility report, but I still haven't been able to get one of those.

If you have your rail car you can use one of the automated systems from here https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/lightning-order-decoding-tracing-guide.10224/

I've had luck with CSX, but not UP. Others have had the opposite experience.

Ford chat didn't have any rail car info for me. Only that it was last in West Chicago on June 2.

I checked my rail car, but couldn't really make out what was said... something about it had left some place in Illinois. I guess that's good, because the visibility reports last update said its on ramp 59.

Just got off the chat, they said:

" I see status as In Transit, Shipped from Plant, Location: Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (revc), MI"

"There is no train/ railcar number yet"

But! They did say to check back in a few days.

Where did you get it, dealer? Did they provide the trace too or is that from the railroad website tracker? (Does such a thing exist?)

I got the rail car number from the Ford online chat. They can give you a status update from your VIN.

Then I took that rail car number and called Union Pacific's automated service for a trace. The service will ask if you want a faxed copy which is where I got that picture from.

Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update
