I tried that as well, but there isn't a tight seal, so the water still leaked/drained.

Ideally, I think if we could 3D print a plug, that would solve the problem! 🤞🏼
Ideally a 3d print of the whole bottom section with cooler material that has a drain plug. Also make a top for it to make it a cooler. I've seen a few post asking for ideas, this would sell like hotcakes

You’d need to ship a Lightning to China for him so he can do the 3D scans.

Fair point. Is that how he got the bronco? No limits in China regarding import of foreign vehicles?

It’s supposed to have one, right?

edit - realized OP wanted a drain plug, which makes no sense. Anyway, carry on.
Yeah, down here in Louisiana, we all have coolers that work much better than anything Ford could make. We like ORCA, but some prefer Yeti. We put ours in the bed of the truck and leave it there during the summer. Comes with a drain plug and is removable.
This is what I mean. If you're going to add a drain, why not just supply a removable plug for it?

I'm genuinely confused why there's a drain in there, if we can't plug it.

I am too OCD for all that water and ice in my frunk. I had an alternative solution... BTW, your height restriction is 17.3". Looking at you aftermarket world for a more custom solution chest refrigerator for lightnings...

You're over engineering it. Just pull out the Duct Tape. It's also easy to remove when you're done. Although now that I think about it, the wide clear packing tape might be better. I'd have to try each to see which is better.

Yeah its gotta be intentional.
1. Idiot puts ice in frunk.
2. Frunk gets couple inches of water.
3. Idiot starts car and takes a turn.
4. ?????
5. Water into outlet
^^^^ THIS

I'd hate to have that pool of water turn into a short circuit mess if it didn't drain like it's supposed to.

Purchasing
MachE Frunk as a cooler.
1) rip out frunk divider very early builds got!
2) line frunk with one piece of reflective cushioned flooring underlayment with SMALL hole in bottom)
3) fill with wedding beverages and ice.
4) Alabama August Heat, and 5 hours later, still had cold drinks!

I have the ARB 37 quart fridge, total game changer and worth every penny. I used mine in the back of my Touareg then Passat for a few year of long distance multi day commuting. I’m looking at buying an Engel fridge as it would fit better in my Bronco.

Because people put ice in it because they think it's a cooler?
