Chip Holds Are Back

There are something like 1,700 chips in the truck. My Mach-E was in production for 6 weeks, then in a lot for 2 months.

Every time I do something to this truck - something as simple as laying the back seat down I truly shake my head. They are literally everywhere, sometimes just bolted on to the back seat - lol. Look under the dash or pull the glove box out and there are modules just bolted everywhere.

Right. On a video last year, Darren Palmer joked about how much can be updated OTA, including the gear shift knob on the Mach-E. He said something like "I don't know what we'd update, but we can". There are close to 1,000 modules on these cars.

8/27 blend here: Went into production via the tracker on 9/1 and Ford Chat is currently telling me that my truck is at ramp 51 under a chip hold. Hopefully it doesn't sit there for months!

A VVR from your week might help give you insight, but you truly need it for your specific truck, your dealer can it for you.

Truly two trucks going down the line behind each other can have very different experiences. One might deliver in 3 weeks, another might be held for 6 weeks based on parts or the luck of the draw. It is all over the place.
