I have had my truck now for a month and have not been able to get the self driving feature to work.
When I am driving I get a notification that Blue Cruise is available and when I activate it I even get a notice to be prepared to take over.
The hands free symbol never appears and I have to keep my hands on the wheel.

Another issue I have when I use the automatic conditioning of the cabin in the morning the heated steering wheel doesn't work and will not work during my drive in to work in the morning. Even if I shut the truck off and turn it back on. Now in the afternoon it worked fine.

Schedule a service appointment... Both of those sound like Ford needs to handle something...

Your hands free maps are probably outdated. I received my truck about 2 weeks ago, and I'm encountering the same thing. If you go into Settings -> General -> About Sync, you should see your sync version, VIN, modem IDs, etc. and then on the bottom line "Hands free ... expiration" (i forget the exact name). If it says 10-09-22 (SEPT 10 2022), it needs an update from Ford that should come OTA. I actually just got off of their OTA team and they're trying to push the update to my truck. Make sure auto updates are on (not set to midnight) and it's on wifi at home. They said if it doesn't update in the next week I'll likely have to take it into a dealer (kill me). I've read elsewhere on here that them pushing it does work.

Interesting. I just had this happen to me this morning - when I got into the truck the seat heater was on, but the steering wheel was cold to the touch. The steering wheel icon on the console showed it was turned on, but the steering wheel never warmed up. Turning off/on the heated steering made no difference. Turning off/on the truck also made no difference.

The heated steering works fine if I remote start the truck from the app on a cold day.
Also works fine if I manually turn on the heated wheel after a manual start of the truck.
The bug in the heated steering seems to be when using a Departure Time.

I too have problems with both the heated steering wheel and hands free BlueCruise.

Since my last failed attempt at hands free BlueCruise it appears my maps have been updated. I am hoping it now works but have not had a chance to test it.

However, my heated steering wheel is still a crap shoot. It usually doesn't work. Every once in a while it does. This is getting frustrating as we get some colder weather here in the Northeast.

My hands free driving was fixed with an update. I have to say though there still seems to be lots of room for improvement wit their software and quality control. My heated steering wheel still doesn’t work after a scheduled departure and I have noticed several other glitches.

anyone notice their drivers seat on the Lariat the leather is loosening up to the point it may wrinkle and wear?

Does it work otherwise? Most of the time mine don't work at all. Manually turning it on usually does nothing. Turning it off and then on again doesn't fix it.

Definitely something going on (not) when departure time used to set cabin to WARM.

I am going to switch it up for tomorrow, selecting MEDIUM to see what that does, if cabin is still comfortable, seats are warm to a lesser degree and if the wheel warms at all.

Yes mine works every time except during the morning drive after a scheduled warm up while plugged in

Hi there, Sean! I can look into your F-150's steering wheel concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your F-150’s VIN?
