I've looked for threads that specifically address this, but cannot seem to find exactly what I'm looking for: does anyone know definitively if the wiring for the intelligent access door handles is present within the doors of the 2022 Lightning XLT? I've read a lot of threads about retrofitting other models, but most seem more focused on adding push button start (which, of course, the Lightning already has). I'll gladly buy the intelligent access handles if the wiring is there. Coming from Tesla, passive entry is something I really miss, and apparently my trim model will not be getting Phone as a Key (PAAK) as the dealer had told me it would: fumbling with a fob is something I'd left in my past with Tesla, and would love to continue to not have to physically take it out and press the button (or a code into a keypad) every time I get in the truck (I know: first-world problem, but that's why these features exist). Sorry if this has been covered somewhere, but I haven't seen this specific question.

I'm interested in this as well. I think I had seen maybe some dongles that plug into the obdii plug but that didn't interest me.

Following. I’m probably out of luck with my Pro, but I hate having to fumble in my pocket for the fob.

Also interested in doing this to my 2023 XLT when it arrives.

This is where the key-pad mod would be great. A half solution is better than no solution!

I already have a keypad, of course. Fiddling with it is worse than using the fob (to me). It is very handy if I'm going biking or to the beach and want to leave my keys in the car, but for everyday use doesn't provide the "passive entry" solution I'm going for. Is there some other "keypad mod" (I'm aware of people adding keypads to vehicles that did not previously have them, which doesn't apply in my case) that improves the ease/speed of use for those who already have keypads (i.e. a mod that allows you to enter by just pressing 0 as long as you have your fob in your pocket, etc.). I guess I'm really just asking if you were referring to adding a keypad (which I already have), or if you are aware of some way to mod existing keypads to make access quicker.... Thanks for the input.

Just adding the keypad. I have a pro so it would be new to me. I’ve never had a ford vehicle with it.

Understood. I didn't realize the Pros didn't have a keypad. I've read a little about these mods in trying to find info about the intelligent access handles, and it seems like a pretty straightforward DIY project. I'd definitely undertake it if I didn't have the keypad. Thanks for the response.

I wouldn't count on the wiring to be there. Best to check before ordering anything. I suspected wiring would for the power rear sliding window and lighted visor mirrors and its not in my XLT. So if you didn't order that higher trim, Ford saved money not wiring those options on the XLT at least.

Thanks for the response. That's exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for. I was hopeful the wiring would be present, but figured it probably wasn't. I think your experience with the visors and rear sliding window probably tells me everything I need to know.

Hopeful someone has or can prove this is doable. I just took the drivers door panel off my Pro and can confirm there is no wiring to the door handle.

While the smart entry would be nice, is the wire for the SecureCode keypad there? That wire doesn't goto the handle.

I read somewhere that the secure code wiring is there, but didn’t look for it when I had mine open. I have my secure code from the dealer. Much prefer intelligent access.
