I did the reinstall myself. Its not hard at all. Turn off breaker, remove old CSP install new one.. tighten the lugs, wiggle rhe wires, tighten again, wiggle wiggle tighten tighten.

Even if you had to bring an electrician out, it would be around a half hour.

thanks good to know.
Once you got it properly paired , what info or features does the charge station app provide or do ?

I guess I just don’t understand the difference between that app and the regular Ford Pass app. Until I see it in action, I don’t know what I’m missing 🤔

Once you get the charge station paired, the app is pretty much useless. You can do a factory reset and check the software, which is also displayed in the FordPass app.

I’m currently at an impasse with Ford on my CSP. I spent four weeks trying to get someone to help me and finally got a “level one ticket number” with a technical department that I assume is at Siemens. Very frustrating! The SSID not broadcasting. I’ve read something above about a factory reset button. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t seem to find this red button. Can someone send me a picture of where this is? No one has mentioned this yet at Ford nor have they given me the list that someone has provided above that I will follow once I get the location of the magic button.

Remove the cover and it’s on the upper left hand corner. Ignore the red arrow that is something else.

This all helped a lot. I was able to reconnect with the charger, but it is refusing to connect to my home wifi. I even moved a wifi router next to the charger and it still won’t work. My wifi router is listed but very low signal.

Any tips or suggestions? Tried starting from scratch and a factory reset but still nothing.

I appreciate this forum and any help!

Having the same issue. Called the 1 (800) 392-3673 number on the FCSP Manual, they directed me to the Houston battery center- I told them, "Houston, I have a problem," and they directed me to power the unit off for 35-40 minutes, wait for it to come back up, and then try connecting. Will update this post once the 40 minutes has passed.

Very frustrating process.

EDIT- I got it to connect, finally. However, unable to change the charge rate setting. I keep getting an error message-"Charge station derate failed ." In addition, every time I open the charge station app, it forces me to re-enter the station password. WTF is up with that? In addition, when I try to log back in to the charging station app, it often takes 5-10 minutes, and frequently times out. What a joke.

Both the FCSP app and the Ford Pass apps are extremely buggy and slow. Frankly, they suck.

ok, so I finally got a FCSP and got it hooked up. 1 week later, my network died. I replaced it with a new mesh network, with a new name. Is there any way to change over the FCSP to the new network? All my other 20+ smart devices were able to make this switchover, but I don't see a way to do it on this one. Is the red "reset" button shown in post 20 my best and only option?

Yes, you have to go into the FCSP Setup App (not Fordpass) and use the Manage Settings option then "Reconnect" when the app can't find the FCSP, you should be able to reconnect to the FCSP Wifi and reconfigure the wifi settings based on your new router/network. I found that you have to be standing right next to the FCSP to find its broadcast network.

I used the red-button reset and finally got the FCSP to transmit it's SID, the PW was the Access code, then I was able to connect to the phone and the home wifi (had to manually connect the phone to the home wifi to succeed at that part), but...

Then the setup app went to a screen to ADD YOUR STATION IN FORDPASS and Confirm the addition of your new Charge Station, thei info was correct (ID and PW) so I tapped Next, but I got an error "ChargePoint Not Found"...

I searched and the answer given in some posts is a server is down...

So I guess I have to try again later and manually add the FCSP to FordPass app...

What fun!

Wait few hours, registering between the servers seems to take 'southern minute'

Yesterday the FCSP cloud was intermittent, my station was not reporting available in Fordpass, but I was able to confirm that it was talking to my network and presumably to the www

On your next try, just join your cell phone to your local wifi network, then using the set up app simply MANAGE SETTINGS [log on] SELECT & CONNECT to your FCSP, find the menu option [CONNECT TO FORDPASS] to finish registering the device to your FP account.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that, eventually.

Not a real high priority right now, I don't really need the connection, I can charge the truck without it.

But if and when I get around to doing the Home Integration install, it seems I will need it, it's part of the HIS install per the documentation. So I want to be prepared.

I may have to go through the whole resetting mess again because after I exited the setup app when I got the chargepoint not found message, and then started it again, I looked for the CSP SWA##### with the phone, but it was gone/invisible (hidden?) if it was transmitting the SID at all.

I'd have loved it if they had provided a wired LAN connection as an option to wifi. Then I would know for sure if the CSP is transmitting.

My neighborhood has 20 or 30 wifi SIDs that show up every time I look, weaker signals than my home wifi and the CSP, but I do wonder about interference and/or hacking.
(Just saw that AT&T announced that hackers got virtually all subscriber data. Not my provider but Ford uses them for cellular in the trucks, as do many other makes.)

I am a patient person which seems to be needed with the FCSP.
Having the FCSP servers be intermittent makes it even harder.

Come on @Ford Motor Company you can do better!

I hadn't caught that bit of news yet, thanks for mentioning it. When I looked up some article, it seems the data stolen isn't as bad as I feared. If we can believe what AT&T is reporting:

“The data does not contain the content of calls or texts, personal information such as Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or other personally identifiable information,” AT&T said in their statement released early Friday morning. “These records identify the telephone numbers with which an AT&T or MVNO wireless number interacted during these periods, including telephone numbers of AT&T wireline customers and customers of other carriers, counts of those interactions, and aggregate call duration for a day or month.”

@TaxmanHog Are you able to connect to your FCSP from FordPass on a regular basis? Mine did for a little while after the 5.0 update but the past 2 weeks or so all I ever get is "not connected".

Just saw the ATT headline on AOL when I signed on - the headline seemed really bad, "Call and Text Records" was in the headline which was alarming, glad it is just metadata - but the spammers will be using it to call and text no doubt.

ATT reception/signal in my neighborhood is bad so we switched carriers years ago.

Also got an unlisted number for the landline when the junk calls got really bad a few years ago - DO NOT CALL didn't do much good.

My email inbox now has over 36,000 unread messages, lol. Nothing important I hope.
