Mini/not really update -- I spoke with him when I was about to head over to the dealership. He confirmed that my order price would be $54,750 even though my order agreement (in picture up above) is $49,750. He didn't say that I wasn't eligible for price protection, just that they wouldn't extend the price protection to me up front, and that any price protection they received from my order would then be sent to me.

I politely said that is absolutely not how this works, and you need to reach out to your Ford rep and get clarification on how to proceed. His defense was "we aren't guaranteeing price protection to you until we get it from ford". As if all the bulletins and statements and releases from ford weren't enough to validate price protection.

I told him we should wait until tomorrow to hear back from his ford rep instead of both of us standing there disagreeing with each other waiting for a phone call from a ford rep that won't likely happen until tomorrow.

It's pretty disappointing to have waited this long just to be held up because I'm having to tell someone else how to do their job.

I just got off the phone with another ford customer sales rep that assured me I was confused and that the $7000 PCO and $5k price protection were the same thing. It’s amazing how misinformed people are regarding this situation.

So your dealer is playing dumb ?

No my dealer isn’t playing dumb. He is fully acknowledging that I SHOULD be eligible for price protection. The issue is that he refuses to honor my order price and will only offer me reimbursement for price protection after I pay their full MSRP and then IF/OR when they get the price protection reimbursement from Ford. Which as we know is not how it works and I am not going to agree to.
He said “we aren’t going to put our neck on the line for you to save $5000 until we get it from ford.” He doesn’t trust Ford to reimburse them after the fact, but I’m supposed to expect them to do the same for me…yeah right.

My dealer is Villa Ford of Orange.

Time to get their regional rep on this!

Reminds me of the '21/'22 MME buyers who were also told the same line and had to wait months to get a refund after Ford reimbursed the dealer.

Bob Villa needs to get involved or a huge social media feeding frenzy will consume his dealerships.

Some may really not know and want to protect themselves but I think many are at war with Ford and pissed and trying to screw us over to feel better about it. I am just curious why consumer protection agency is taking my tax money and enjoying this show with nothing to say.

I just spent a little bit of time looking for a contact for a regional rep but I wasn’t able to find anything. I’m hoping Villa Ford’s reach out to their rep proves helpful but I’m feeling that they are going to do it “their way” regardless.

Speaking from experience as I purchased my MY23 Pro yesterday:

The $7,000 is easily found in SmartVincent, the certificate number is your order number I believe.

There is also a $5,000 price protection you are qualified for. This has been the biggest issue at dealers. The dealer should honor the $5,000, they just have no visibility to how Ford reimburses it. They get reimbursed by Ford after 30-60 days as long as the name on the paperwork (your name) matches the original registration.

My dealer gave me no issues. My dealer is the #1 dealer in my state and has dealt with the Price Protection before though.

Correct. My dealer has already confirmed the $7k private offer but getting pushback on the $5k price protection. Just stopped by the dealer and here she is…

You’re lucky! I’m doing all the leg work so you won’t have to! Haha
I did stop by yesterday to try and speak to them but the person I’m suppose to deal with wasn’t there. I spoke to who I assume was the general manager and he said he was aware of the situation. He then politely shoed me away.

Regardless I’m rooting for you. If you need me to stand out front with you with a sign to protest just let me know. Haha.

Did buyers get refunds on that? I read somewhere that if the dealer submits the completed purchase to Ford at the higher price Ford will invoice the higher price to the dealer. Again I read that here I don’t have confirmation on that.

I’m worried about this myself. I have a lot going on and spending an additional 5k isn’t going to fit my plans, and would be very upsetting given the time put into this purchase so far from research to reservation to going to the local Ford event, waiting to order and researching waves, and finally ordering and checking daily for build dates etc.

I could do the 5 on purchase if it was actually refunded but the unknown is a problem.

Pretty pathetic we were expected to get dated WBDO order sheets from the dealer at order anticipating Ford would jack up the price afterwards. Ford then fails to provide clear price protection information to buyers allowing dealers to feign ignorance about the difference from order to sticker upon delivery. We shouldn't have to protect ourselves against your own dealers.

@Ford Motor Company, why must we babysit your dealers? Your name is on the side of their buildings, it is a poor reflection of your brand at the end of the day. Get a hold of your representation. Will be my first and last Ford so long as this dealer model remains.
