I was happy to see that United Road signature. They’ve got ALOT of cleaning to do… hopefully the rail coaldust won’t be an issue, as this a major hub for WV coal. I’ll be headed over that way at 2pm.
(And if it takes a couple of additional days to prep, it kinda doesn’t matter, right?)

12-2-22 5:44pm - It was delivered. Many thanks to ALL of you and especially the TaxMan for your tips and quips about your whips. I lived vicariously through your experiences and pics for months while the truck was in the Petersburg “Prison” Rail-yard, with a second Rail-yard

worker strike looming.

My fiancée thought I was nuts taking it from delivery straight downtown during rush hour to the sold-out Jerry Seinfeld show at 7pm into a tight college campus garage.

“No worries!” I told her. “We’ve got Bluecruise!”

After the show, I dropped her off and drove the 72mi back home. Parked it outside to charge it.

Go figure - delivered today exactly 10d after I got the truck!

I must be one of the few that received their charger several months before vehicle delivery. Charger received September 22, truck delivered November 15, charger installed December 9. Took about 8 weeks for permitting to be approved in my county.

Good write-up, but remember it's a TRUCK!!!!

IMHO, Ford did a good job launching a new variant of the F150, especially in this post pandemic economic environment, many ICE production lines are negatively impacted by the same constraints, but media magnification on the new kid on the block was no help.

Hopefully [F] learns from these experiences building model-E

for sure! I do also think everything that's gone "wrong" with the Lightning roll out is 100% fixable. I'm hoping this way of framing it (product is sick, delivery and production communications was where things broke down) helps Ford focus on areas of improvement that are achievable.
