@BarryB that's too bad. It seems like it is taking about 3 weeks to get to California. Mine shipped 12/28 and is expected to arrive in Morgan Hill on 1/20. I'm impressed you got rail info from the chat. I tried Ford chat today to see if I could get an update and she told me that she doesn't have access to the rail information and just said my estimated delivery date was 1/21 and then directed me to my account on the Ford website. Is there another chat that everyone seems to be getting their info from?

That's interesting. Mine shipped the same day and Ford chat gave me rail car information and an estimated delivery date of 1/9. I assumed that our trucks were on the same train headed to the bay area.

Hmmm so my date had updated to 1/28-2/3 but just checked again and it's 1/3-1/9. Does that jumping around mean it's close to actually shipping?

I used the chat for the Mach e and had success with the rail equipment number but no such luck with lightning. It’s possible they just don’t have it right now as it haven’t been assigned yet. My order is still at ramp 5m new Boston MI moved from ramp 51 flat rock MI.

I am wondering is the ETA manually entered by someone or is it automatically generated by computer.

I know for a fact that the truck is on its way here. My dealer sent me a screen shot showing it in Illinois as of two days ago. I just don't want to keep bugging him for tracking info. If I had the rail information I could just track myself. I'm thinking I just got an agent that didn't want to work that hard to find it. lol

You would think that they would be on the same train given that our dealers are just over a hill from each other. I also find it interesting that your delivery date is so far off from mine.

I would call them instead of using the chat If that is the case. It’s less likely they wouldn’t try to help if you on phone Vs chat.

Kim, when you use Ford Chat do what I do….tell them this is your first new car you’ve ordered and you’re a little anxious and you would so appreciate any info blah blah. Then they seem to want to help. I think if I told them the truth that I’m a retired geezer with ranch full of cars they’d blow me off. Lord forgive me for catfishing.

Good morning, 12/12!

A few things as we barrel towards deliveries in the coming weeks:

If your trucks show Shipped, you *should* be beyond any chip holds. The "Micro Chip At Plant - On Hold" status is legit but was likely while the truck was Built and Awaiting Shipment in a holding lot. As @kskaplan25 shared, the report Ford CS (and maybe your dealer) are pulling simply shows that status as the last update and is not indicative of current state.

I've also contacted Ford CS via chat daily, and they've all supplied the railcar # and carrier. Hopefully that was just an unfortunate fluke. Once you have the railcar #, there's a whole new level of nerding out to embrace! There are solid instructions in this thread

Hopefully this helps quell some concern over our week's shipments/deliveries. As someone who has read back through A LOT of previous build week threads, we are still some of the lucky ones...

Do you happen to know if your railcar was in West Chicago? From what I've read, that's a large interchange where Canadian National cars link up to Union Pacific which could cause a solid delay. That's where mine was for a day (lucky) and departed this morning. Since you're in Utah and I'm in Colorado, I wonder if our trucks are rolling west together!

Also, oddly enough, the estimated train arrival (via UP) moved up a day to Sunday, January 8th... still not sure if that date reflects delivery to the final railyard/lot or my actual dealer -- assuming the former. I still never received either Built or Shipped emails from Ford and have no estimated delivery window

Just a quick update for anyone who has been following along, my truck has been in the Atlanta area (roughly 2 hours away from the dealer) on train for several days now and I have not gotten any update on it making it to the dealer. So it may take several days for them to unload, or to gather enough vehicles to fill a truck before they deliver them. But I am kinda surprised I have not heard anything yet.

Exciting it's so close! Did you check United Road's delivery receipt by entering your VIN? If you see your dealer listed, that's likely your last mile delivery and can register to track it in more detail (slightly cumbersome). If nothing populates after searching your VIN, it's likely your dealer receives delivery from a different trucking company.

Just got off a call with Ford CS, she said that I'm not on a chip hold, my vehicle is complete but they've had challenges getting drivers (Convoy; I'm 3 hours away) which might explain my initial delay but that its probable that it might still be delivered by the 7th.
