Tailgate assist on pro? HELP

I am at the dealer right now and my window sticker says tailgate assist, but it’s not on the truck or anywhere.

anybody get one on their pro and also does anybody know the part number ?

I don't know why they call it tailgate assist on the Pro. It certainly does not damper the tail gate when lowering, like a traditional tail gate assist. It does see to offer some assistance in raising the tailgate, but that is it.

I don't know what examples there would be, other than descriptions on spec sheets as "lift assist."

My experience on my XLT is that tailgate assist makes it lighter... but certainly not light. I installed a damper from Amazon and now it opens smooth and slow.

Tailgate assist should consist of both a torsion rod and opening damper. I filed a misbuilt claim on mine which was approved. I have not installed the torsion bar in mine because it really doesn't do much.

How would one file said misbuilt claim?

It is done by the dealership service dept. It's basically alerting FoMoCo that you'll be submitting a warranty claim for a misbuilt vehicle. There are requirements as to how long such a claim is valid. Approval to submit the claim will require photos showing what parts are missing.

By chance is it something like this?? Would be hard to see and doesn't seem to do much. I’ve ordered the actual ford shock damper assist that is installed behind the rear taillight. I don’t think the Pro comes with anything that nice. Maybe what’s in the video is what they consider the “assist”??

Every review Ive seen of the Pro shows the tailgate slamming normally. My sticker shows same thing, but I honestly think it’s just the hidden torsion bar that does nothing pretty much. I bet it’s not missing.
This is what I ordered. Reviews are good with people who have installed it. It’s hidden behind tail light.

Yea I am not. I def DO NOT want a power tailgate. One more thing to not work properly and over time get slow and break.

I just want whatever this assist is, but looks like some other comments may have figured it out. more investigating to come.

mine does not do what you describe (zero resistance up or down), so I asked for an example (vid/pic) hoping to see what it looks like or does so I can compare to mine

From everything I read it is a lifting assist and nothing to do with opening. so a dampener would not be included.
