I wouldn't mind if a hypothetical Ranger EV had less range. I never tow, only carry stuff in the bed. It is tight in the interior for sure, especially over 6' tall. But a mid sized truck with decent ish range (maybe around SR) better fast charging at the 50k mark I think could work. If they're selling Pros for 56K I think they can shave size, weight, and improve aero to squeeze more range from the battery. But I'm biased, my Ranger has always been a commuter with the ability to carry stuff. I doubt I'll mind a full size, hell I may love it as a bigger dude, but parking the Ranger or navigating tight roads feels pretty good.

Even at higher prices, the Lightning is still a deal.

Monster power, unmatched utility, 131 kWh pack, luxury ride. I don’t see it dropping any time soon.
I have always thought the cost of the platinum is a joke. If you got money to just burn then go for it but come 2025 they will be worth so much less “in my opinion “

Yes I am a first minute reservation too but something tells me that $39K full sized Chevy Silverado EV will not happen.

I think by the time we get to order this summer for the EV WT, it might be way more money or way less range (200miles)....

When I went to the LA Auto show, I was invited to the GM VIP show before the event and they stood by the $39K price point...

But they are also saying that the Work Trucks are going to Fleets for the first year and they will make the $105k models available to the public first. So IMO, the $39k work truck for regular people will never happen and not before Mid to Late 2024 for the 'price corrected' version to be available to reservation holders. So those here that got their trucks at (or close) to 2022 MSRP with Tax Crdeits etc, will come to see as time goes on that we got a deal and be very happy with their purchase....I know I am

I agree, No reason to discount the F-150. The only competitor is Rivian, and they offer a more expensive product. Maybe next year when CT, Chevy, and Ram get products on the market, they might have to adjust prices to compete. The first thing Ford might do is offer competitive financing deals to include the Lightning.

Once the Silverado EV and Ram Revolution are released, prices are guaranteed to go lower. It’s the simple economics of supply and demand. Early adopters will pay premium until EVs are common on the road. These are the same people that paid tens of thousands for plasma TVs when they came out. Lol

I don't know that it was any kind of indication, but seems almost every dealer has a Lightning or two on the lot form abandoned orders at the end of the year. One near me says they have 5. I can only see two of the window stickers and they were both abandoned orders. So what will happen, effectively the trucks took close to a $15K jump - losing the rebates and the 2023 price increases. Are that many people really going to stay in line to pay that kind of money for a truck?

Only time will tell, but I think we need 3 months to see if Ford really ramps the production on this truck and how many people still haven't gotten a chance to order. I never thought they'd get ramped to the 150K or more they were targeting and I think, very likely on purpose now, they never will. They don't want these trucks sitting on lots. It should only be 2 years before they have a completely different design on the road with completely different tech. There is no reason to put any more money into this truck or build them at a rate which they sit on lots.

It would be a different story if they dropped the SR Lariat and made more Pro's and XLT's but there isn't the profit in those either, so no need to do that. Ford has learned there is demand for the EV truck, but they know this one is a dead end.
I am a Day 1 reservation holder and I finally got my invite with the December order wave. I decided against ordering at this time due to the price increases. I suspect that while there are some others like me, most Lightning reservation holders will not bat an eye at the price increases and will order their truck.

totally agree. My neighbors platinum is getting delivered to dealership. (I have a lariat ER). He is posting it on local socials and saying it’s loaded with all the bells and whistles. A couple of my neighbors who know I have a lariat asked me about it. He posted the sticker and of course it has all the deletes on it so at this point he wants someone to buy a platinum Truck for $10k more then mine and all it has is 10 more speakers and better leather…..but 20 miles less range. I don’t blame him for selling it asFord doesn’t make much sense making a platinum still $10k after all the “discounts” with the deletes. The only thing I have against my neighbor is he’s being a bit deceitful saying it’s loaded with all the bells and whistles.

If tesla gets cybertruck production going by summer, Ford will have to compete price wise. Competition is not such a bad thing
Heard today that the cyber truck was north of $75K when it debuts.

Not for Lightning - they will still remain high in demand for quite some time.

Mustang Mach E - yes - Tesla competes directly with MME !

I posted on the sister MME forum asking if I should reconsider my incoming MME order vs new Tesla pricing.

Majority said - no - MME is a better product!
I have a MY and it is a great vehicle. The supercharger network is awesome too. I think with the new pricing (especially if you qualify for the tax credit) you would be foolish to not take a good look at the Tesla. Of course there is something to be said for staying with Ford for access to dealer warranty service. However, I will say that I got my Lightning and my Model Y just one day apart. The Lightning has been to the dealer twice for warranty work and I still don’t have all of the OTA updates. My Tesla hasn’t needed anything that Tesla couldn’t provide OTA. When I went in to pick up the Tesla there was a Model 3 owner there getting some warranty work done. I asked him how the service is with Tesla and he said that he didn’t know because in the 4 years that he has owned the vehicle this was the first time he ever brought it in for anything. I love the Lightning and think it is a better vehicle than the MY, but compared to a MME the Y is on par. With the new price I think it is worth serious consideration. Just my thoughts for what it’s worth.

Source?

Even Tesla probably doesn't know what the price will be, yet.
YouTube. New video. $76K actually. Invitations to order were sent to at least 2 people. Screenshot from Tesla was shown. That’s all I got…

As far as I know the only Silverado Work Truck available at launch is the WT3 which is like 75k. And the RST is 105k. 75k for a "Work Truck" is a bit of a stretch...

I don't think Ford will be lowering prices, but perhaps they'll hold the prices steady for a while. Or perhaps adjust prices slightly for pricing targets on rebates, but I feel like they would have done that already, as the 80k price limit is not new information. It has to be more intentional than it seems.

I am experiencing Ford “warranty service” and I will say it’s dealer dependent. Basically the dealer I am dealing with sucks so much I want to get rid of the Lightning and just go to a Luxury ICE or Tesla.

I had warranty work done on my Model 3. Took one day and I was placed in a Model S. Meanwhile my Ford dealer sets an appointment early morning, says the keypad will be done today, 5 pm comes around and it’s: our warranty tech didn’t come in…. WTF!

Meanwhile I’m in a Chevy Malibu that smells like a goddamn casino, yeah I’m pretty pissed off….
