F150 Lightning Audio Builds (Anybody Done One?) Why Not?

Anyone know where this plug goes? I originally thought the subwoofer had two connections, but it turns out this plug just goes back under the rear seat. I’m pretty sure it’s is a speaker lead, but doesn’t connect to the sub. Just the green connector does.

I followed it, and it goes into the drivers rear seat belt buckle. Must not be a speaker but a seat belt minder.

Ok here we go. Just started tonight running some 4ga. See some picks. Drivers side down into frame. Then pop out under drivers feet into the grommet.

stay in between brake Resivour and coolant resivour to avoid steering yoke.
I double techflexed the 2 runs .

That’s all I need for the build. Kicker Key 200.4 and 500.1 less than 100 amps easy.

Ok finished this up this weekend. I’m pleased. Believe it or not, I wasn’t crazy about the kicker key time alignment. So I turned that off and put in the ford “surround” setting and that sounds best for my taste.

Also, don’t hate on the quick disconnects for the tweeters, sometimes you do what’s necessary to get the job done

Just for reference the head unit when running through the Zen A2B does not clip even at full tilt.

I know the display looks a little flat on top, but if you zoom in via the O scope its not.. It messes me up all the time. The resolution on that device is terrible.

That is good to see on a scope. That is beyond my skill level and tool set, but the JL Audio VXi amps have the testing and ability to determine clipping built in. I found the same thing - turned the volume all the way up on the head unit and hit the red (clipping) on only one input at full volume.

I've been researching since day 1. SGS - Sounds Good Stereo and MTI - Mobil Toys both deal with a ton of F150's.

I've got a price sheet for purchasing from MTI I just haven't pulled the trigger. I want it bad, but am slightly hesitant to put several thousand more into the truck.

I'm planning on Focal Flax Speakers - running all active from a JL Audio 6 channel VXi Amp with a JL Audio thin Woofer in a box with dedicated amp to go behind the seat. I don't want to interfere with the storage under the back seat.

I have the stealth sub and amp setup for the BO system on order. If it impresses me I will use SGS entire plug and play upgrade they have. What sold me on them was Dean from FiveStar giving them a glowing review. If you are a car audio guy and you dont know who Dean is from the clean wire club, you cant understand how big of a deal it is to have him say yes, this company is impressive.

2/3 boxes came today. The tracking information for the other one is nuts, but hopefully it comes soon. I guess it's got the speakers and the sound dampening blocks.

Did you have to source the handlees for the pillars? Or did they come with it? Aren't the Gen14 integratred?

Handles came with the kit; they’re in the box with all the wires and hardware.
