That sucks. Keep us posted on what they diagnose the problem as being. That's what's horrible about crap like this. The message that cried wolf. Most of us will get it and nothing will be wrong, then you'll have the a few that actually have a problem but don't pay attention because everyone else said its a false alarm. Air dam isn't unique to our Lightnings, so they should have learned and resolved problems from prior complaints.
I'm getting this message with increasing frequency and with no major change to outside temps and speeds my efficiency seems to be falling off a bit. Hopefully my dealership knows how to diagnose whether the dam is actually moving reliably.

For me, you can see it sagging on one side and can easily push up the sagging side. The truck tries the dam a few times every drive. After a few times going above and below 45mph, it always throws the error.

It should be warranty, but the dealer will probably say I hit something.

I just realized I never followed up on this, the dealer replaced the motors and I haven’t had an issue since.

Maybe mine were bad from the beginning? No idea.

Had mine in for service (just over 11k miles) and had them look at this for me. I get the message quite a lot - so much so that my daughter heard the chime and says “air thingy fault” - but it isn’t every time I drive the truck. Unfortunately, the dealer said they didn’t see any codes and marked it off as only notes added to my file.

It's not supposed to do that. It's under warranty. Demand customer satisfaction,

Adding recent observation: i had the warning come up at the end of every long trip when getting close to an exit ramp. That means slowing down to below 40MPH.

Today, I removed the one pedal driving and I did not get the warning. This seems to reinforce a Theory I had read here that in quick deceleration the air damn “cannot catch up”. Hopefully a software update helps with this.

unless the airdam is clearly damaged, I would not ask the dealership to replace it risking they break something else.

My truck was in for the 10k mile service and I told them about the many times I’ve gotten the fault; it even occurred during my drive to the appointment. As someone already mentioned, They said a software update is coming in March.

Interesting observation, the few times I've had this warning were in similar circumstances, last week, when slowing down quickly to a ramp off i495 heading to the DCFC station it triggered.

In Mass, a lot of our freeway ramps are short on approach, and tight turns heading toward to the secondary roads, I slowed from 75ish to 35ish in quick deceleration, the air dam may not have been fully retracted.

I've only had this issue 3 times in 8000+ miles

My dealer said the same thing. They couldn’t diagnose anything because there were no codes. The service manager and I took a ride and of course the fault did not appear. Luckily, as I pulled out of the dealer parking lot and accelerated through 50 mph I got the fault. I didn’t hit OK, but turned around and pulled back into the service bay. I kept the truck on and told them the fault was active. They were then able to conclude there was a problem with the Active Air Dam motors which they replaced after a long wait for the parts.

Have this message all the time, mostly drive in warm weather. Does the dam improve efficiency?
