I mean.... both. Depends on the day, that's why we're driving pick-ups. Sometimes I'm just driving kids to school or getting groceries, sometimes I'm grabbing lumber for a project, sometimes I'm hauling away a load of trash.

Son: I like my daddy's truck.
Teacher: Yea? What does he do with it?
Son: He picks up stuff
Teacher: What kind of stuff?
Son: Trash. It's a trash truck.

That's what my kid thinks of my truck...

"Work" can vary. So for me...

I use the bed more than I use the seats in the rear cab.
I use the seats in the rear cab more than I use the frunk.
I use the funk more than I use my hitch.

Sadly, while I use it all, I use it most when it's just me with everything else empty.
Sometimes I wonder if I should downsize but when I need to use the rest, I'm very happy I have it.

Frunk loaded with all my 20v tools, batteries, and chargers. Back seat has my kit (hand tools, drills, expendibles), and the removable rack will hold lumber/mouldings and ladders. I’m set!

Garage princess here. Have loaded two different things in the bed and after 18 months still not one thing has been plugged into an outlet, but in TX we drive pickups.

Day to day a family hauler (weird shaped minivan), but definitely use it for truck stuff on the weekend. I love being able to just drive by the Home Improvement store and get whatever I need whenever I need it. ~No limitations.

We have had the airstream for about a year now. Towing about 7500 pounds and getting about 130 miles range when fully charged. Haven’t had a problem since there are so many chargers in the greater bay area. Will be doing our first long journey to Palm Springs later this month. About 465 miles. Have the charger locations mapped out. All in all a great experience. I really love the truck.

For years I had an EV that worked great for commuting and even long cross country trips but it couldn’t pull my boat. My Lightning does everything my old EV could only better plus it can really tow. I’m a happy camper.

Just looking good...only thing I haul are kegs of beer. And I have a sweet looking hitch cover for 15 years that only comes off when I'm getting ready to sell the truck it is on.

Like @GDN said, we are in Texas, so we drive full size trucks (mainly to see the road ahead).

Both! Family hauler with the bed loaded every weekend. Lots of DIY projects require the bed to be used as it was meant to be. Tow a boat, Seadoos etc. I use the POB regularly for a cooler, power tools etc. No need for a generator when working in the boatyard. I use the truck like a truck but mostly for my fun projects. My Diamondback tonneau cover is well-used strapping loads to it regularly.
I don't use it as hard as some, but I use it like the workhorse it is. Some days, we just look good.
