My truck has been here in town for 5 weeks but can't be released due to the recall for a faulty part that runs the heater and defroster. I've chatted with Ford twice and get the "rest assured Ford is working with suppliers yada, yada, yada" answer as to when the part will be available. Should I just tell them to forget it and give me my money back? Look elsewhere? Wait? (I don't need the truck right now.) My biggest frustration is the lack of communication from Ford as to what is going on and when do they expect to have the parts. Apparently only 929 trucks are involved in the recall. This is my first American car in a long time and my first Ford. Not a good look for the company.

I'm having some issues that have started in the last few weeks with my heat and am scheduled to bring it in tomorrow. Sometimes blows just cool/tepid air no matter how high you set the temp. Real fun taking my grandson to camp in the mountains and having him be cold for the twi hour trip. And today no real heat for 1/2 my journey home, then charged on a L3 charger for a quick 10 minute boost then had heat the rest of the way home. Not confidence inspiring! What is involved in this heater recall you saw?

Sorry to hear. I was waiting for a lightning as well. I ended up going to a lariat from an xlt. I cost more in the end but it was the only sure thing I was going to get.

Same here. I just vented my frustration to the chat person at Ford yesterday. Sitting on the problem and not owning up to it ('Ford's policies and procedures') is not acceptable.

I think everybody understands that a new vehicle generation will go through these kinds of issues. This does not have to be a black spot on Ford's face. Make the customer part of the process, even if it takes longer than desirable is the only way to maintain and possibly improve the relationship.

For those waiting, my dealer just called and said the parts are available and they have ordered them.

same... but it was unclear if there would be enough parts for everyone...

Tried again with my dealer today, he was incredulous about the part existing. Anybody who actually got this recall fixed?

Great, thanks sdingeldein. You don‘t happen to have a part # for this?
