I had been waiting for the 23B57 update OTA. Finally took the truck to the dealer, and the update reports no problems with the battery. Don't know if they did any extensive tests. My truck was only at the dealer 4 or 5 hours for other update checks as well.

My truck was in the process of being built when the Dearborn battery fire occurred in 2/23. So maybe I'm one of the lucky ones because, in the aftermath, my truck's battery was probably inspected six ways to Sunday before the vehicle shipped. Since some folks here have said their truck was fine with the initial BECM module update but then imploded a few weeks later, IIRC, I'm not patting myself on the back yet. Maybe a couple of months down the road, I'll be more optimistic.

Alright, I have my follow-up. Picked the truck up from the dealer yesterday (33 days at the dealer).

They took care of the battery fault, the dash mat, and the rear lightbar in one visit. They had a heck of a time with the high voltage battery troubleshooting on my end. This looks like each EV service tech is probably up against a stretched-thin technical support team to assist on their end... plus a learning curve all around.

Want to re-state that the service techs at this dealer were great to work with and we were in constant communication... not much else they could do better on their end. The delays seemed to come from Ford not shipping the new modules out until they got the vehicle on the lift, dropped the battery and confirmed what cell(s) needed replacing before Ford would ship the modules out. Also huge shoutout to the EV team # for their assistance in this headache... they arranged the flatbed, complicated travel (from an island), and communicated with the dealership to set up the service. For the headache that this was, everyone I spoke with was super helpful which made it a lot better of an experience.

For those interested, here are the complete service notes for the HV module repair line item, anyway:
Thanks for this. Mine is in service since 12/05/23 Tuesday AM. As of yesterday module they received has a communication glitch apparently between it and Fords very own Midtronics xMB-9640 Module Balancer machine. In a nutshell they are stuck waiting on Fords seemingly slow response. Awaiting engineers to elevate up from Tier 1 status to Tier 2 and higher. It appears to be a major known issue that needs addressed. We need your team to get this resolved ASAP #FordMotorCompany https://x.com/Ford?s=20
Same recalls and repairs as yours while it’s there. This ‘57 update is a cluster already. Kinda bummed already in the gas F150 eco truck loaner getting a measly 10mpg in town driving. I am looking forward to going to the gas station in this thing either. Fingers crossed..!! 🤞
As of now, how many days since this repair? It's been said that as many as 22 days are needed for module to module rebalancing to complete after a swap.

Hi everyone I quoted above. I dropped my F150 Lightning Lariat ER at the dealer yesterday for the leaky dashboard mat, the crackable tail light issue and that 23B57 BECM Software issue. Yesterday afternoon they called me and said it was only halfway done with the update. Just called at 1:30 p.m. again, and they said it is still not done.

I get the impression from the length of this thread that I may be in for a long wait? I did not get a loaner vehicle, and we need a second vehicle. At what point should I call the dealer and ask for one, or might it be done in a couple of days? Should I call and ask some pointed questions? Seems odd that a software update would take nearly 2 days to load?

EDIT- So I just called the service advisor at the dealer back, he said the software update is done and they are completing the other items.

Question- Should I be on the lookout for any bad behavior by my Lightning regarding charging, battery, errors, etc?

I was waiting also for the OTA but had it done along with the wiper motor recall and the LVB sensor yesterday. The other two dropped off of my app, but the csp for the 23b57 is still showing on my app. Is anyone else's still showing after having the dealer do the update?

My dealer service was on 1/11/23 and the NHSTA Sync recall and both CSPs, the BSM and the BECM one, have now been cleared from my Ford account, even though the BSM is on order and hasn't been installed yet (the hardcopy service order was also written up as if it were installed but an e-mail afterwards from the SA confirmed it has not been).

My 23b57 was resolved a while ago, but the CSP alert remains on the dashboard along with the BMS for the LVB [23b70]. I won't bother to have the LVB cleared until next tire rotation, since I already changed out the part myself, as far as I have heard the 23b57 should remain for up to a year past the update.

My 2 HV battery module replacements were completed in September 2023. The 23B57 is still showing as active. The dealer Service Advisor told me that it would stay active for one year.

Nope. She’s dead.

I plugged it in last night and started charging normally. It gave up sometime in the middle of the night and absolutely refuses to charge. I just get orange lights at the charge port and an error on the dash. I can probably drive it to the dealer like this, but that’s the only place it’s going.

With that fault it imposes a charge limit so you can't charge to 100 or 80. So you can still drive and then charge again, just appears to be limited to 65%

Well dammit. My anecdote above may not have been positive.

Is this the error code related to this campaign?

To answer your question: Yes.

You have an unstable module that is reflecting an out of range charge level.

Sorry to see you have to deal with this, but it is time to return to your dealer.

Mine has been in the service shop at Ford since December 5th, 2023 when I proactively took it in for the xxx57 update.
Still waiting for replacement parts here. Still waiting for fix.
Ford is now recommending me proceed further into their vehicle repurchase and buyback program.
I’m still hoping they can just fix mine,
11 great first months of ownership and now
6+ weeks of truck in shop inoperable with modules removed on the shop floor.
Ford seemingly does not want to fix my truck in an expedited time frame or manner.

“Still researching” their SSSC engineers are telling dealership.

I hope your experience is better than mine.

Wow…I’m really sorry to hear that. I wonder why some are having these fixed within a week, and others are taking much longer? Are they waiting for a part that others aren’t having to be replaced?
