I’m definitely a forgetful one and have a habit of leaving our unpowered charge port door open. I appreciate being able to simply stand on the running boards and being able to reach over the door and close the charge port door.

I would absolutely hate having to walk around to the other side to close it.
I thought I was the only one that did that.

Am I the only one who wants the charge port located here?

Back in, charge from either side!
Definitely not me - too many 20' garages, including mine. Truck fits, but I'd never be able to charge with it there.

So I started the thread for conversation and to see what others wanted. I'll have to say that I'm starting to get on board with likely front left fender - in front of the wheel would likely be the best location after thinking. You could pull in to a SC - if you've got a trailer you'll stick out some, but likely not block too much otherwise.

I don't see many ever duplicating the port, at Ford prices, that is likely $500 to $1000 per vehicle extra wiring and I'm not sure they could engineer it. :)

For those saying no to the bed, I get contractors and real truck users make modifications, etc, but the ProPower plugs are already back there. I was thinking it would just be in the same place, outside the bed.

If you look at others Ford could get creative, they don't need a door on it the size of a garage door. That thing could be a bit sleeker and made to work many different ways.

It's not moving to the back of the truck, because Ford has commercial customers that put toolboxes, etc on this truck chassis. Never happening. It may move to the front or passenger side, but it's never going to be part of the bed.

When you have a vehicle with surround view and actual parking sensors, you're not stuck putting it at the rear. 😜
In Europe, Ford has the port on the other side because you would pull nose in and still be in the appropriate spot for a Tesla supercharger.

EDIT: and I mean the same location we have currently, but just the "dummy" panel on the right front fender

It seems less likely since Ford retooled the right fender for ‘24 and eliminated the fake door.
