Ford Pass Update 5.0.0 -- Limited Public Beta Release [closed]

You can extend the time just like FP4 remote start - 30 minutes total.
Currently just turns heated seats on or off. Don't know if that's just the driver or all of them and what setting - didn't test. No cooled seats in this version.

Neat - I just opened my app and had the button to try Fordpass 5 public beta. Clicked the button, restarted the app, and here it is! Will have to spend some time using it, but initial reaction is that it seems to be much more responsive than the previous version.

The bottom and top options is an indication they are trying to reduce the fine mess of options they currently have to something more sensible. Hopefully people that get the button will give good feed back (from a first time user point of view) to get the UI closer to Tesla and Rivian grade usability.

I wonder how many times I can refresh my app trying to get that button to upgrade before Ford sends me a cease and desist.

Yeah, you weren't selected right away. Same thing happened to me late last year. You would know if you're in the test group. They would have sent you an email link to use in the TestFlight iOS app that you have to install.

Well not quite. Your truck does not have PAAK, so you will not get frunk or trunk icons in the app. If you had PAAK you would already have those buttons in the current app.

That screenshot was a Mach-E. Here's what it looks like on a Lightning - that has PAAK. On your truck you just have the horn/light button - and always will.

I'm a fan of the beta. Admittedly haven't used it much in the five minutes I've had it, but it appears to be a nice rebuild. Very responsive and don't constantly have to try multiple times to hold my finger still on a button.

A quick reminder. If you are in the EAP and have been using the beta for awhile you are not allowed to post anything related to the beta. Ford communicated that those in EAP still have access to features not yet released in the public beta which is why the NDA is not lifted.

Ford won't enable the Frunk or tailgate button on a vehicle without PAAK. What happens if you're on the other side of the country and accidentally press one of them? You don't know if they are opened or closed now. With PAAK, you have to be in Bluetooth range for them to work.
