FordPass app closing in background IOS

Hi everyone. Use my iPhone with PAAK exclusively. However my Ford Pass often closes in the background atleast once a day and I have to open it again for the key to work.

Does anyone else experience this? It’s set to have app refresh in the background, everything is set up correctly.

I've had this happen infrequently as well, but not as often as you. I'm usually on the developer beta of the iOS, so I've always thought that was part of my issue. Might just try a restart of your phone and see if that helps at all.

Same I’m on developer beta as well but I was hoping with the new app and since we haven’t had betas it might stabilize but hasn’t.

Yes it’s been happening to me as well. Very annoying to use PAAK if you have to open your phone and pull up the app every time

Same happens to me all the time. However, I just need to "wake my phone", I dont need to open the Fordpass app.

It happened on the old version as well. I dont think it was always that way though, it did work for a period of time Im fairly certain. It's definitely been plaguing me for 6 months or so.

I even deleted and re-setup PAAK after the 5.0 update.

It is extremely annoying, but is still not as annoying as carrying around that obscenely massive key fob!

I’ve been using PAAK exclusively since it first rolled out to my early 2022. Has been almost flawless and I’ve never had to utilize the passcode. At most it would be a restart if the app and then I’m on my way. However, since the new app released it has been a common occurrence for it to shut down as noted by others and also to not connect. I’ve had more trouble in the last two weeks than the entire time using it to date. The worst happened today. Hopped in the car for a long trip, truck wouldn’t recognize PAAK so it popped up the passcode. I restarted the app, made sure phone settings were ok, etc. and the truck would not get out of the passcode feature. Tired the passcode for fun and got a response that an unexpected error occurred and could not start. Didn’t have time to mess with it so had to use the backup key. All this started with the timing of the new app.
