After driving my truck, I noticed that the exterior mirrors no longer fold when I lock the truck. It does not matter if I use the remote or the bottom two buttons on the door. I have tried opening and closing each door, the frunk and the tailgate with no luck. I also checked the settings on the main screen and toggled that of and on with no luck.

Any further advice aside from disconnecting the 12 volt battery?

Did you have any recent updates?

As of Saturday afternoon / evening mine were working fine.

I think I remember having that problem after an update. I think I just used the button in the truck and then it started doing it again automatically. I don’t remember if I toggled the setting on and off.
Kind of like the frunk sometimes you have to manually close it after disconnecting the battery.

That was my first thought, but all of my custom instrument cluster settings were still intact. I did have an update about a week ago, but have driven the truck since.

Are you talking about the button on the driver‘s door?

I’ll try that.
Let me know if that works!
I think it was a couple of months ago, so I was trying to remember. If that doesn’t work, you might try the battery??

Had this issue also and a few days later it started working again without having to do anything. A lot of bugs issue with Ford software/apps.

Thank you @Scorpio3d. It worked.

Started the truck, pressed the button, mirror motors started, heard a thunk and they both now retract.

I had run the truck through the Carwash, but had the mirrors retracted when it went through the tunnel. Don’t understand why this happened.

There is an interesting behaviour that I actually like.

My garage is a very tight fit, both depth & width, I always fold the mirrors prior to entering the garage, they stay folded while inside, regardless of my manipulations of the door locks, they don't fold open, which is really helpful so that I don't need to flip them back in prior to backing out the truck.

Once I'm out of the garage, just tap the drivers door mirror button and they're ready to go.

Now that I'm out and about, get to a destination, using either the FOB or outside door buttons to initiate the lock or unlock makes the mirrors fold in or out as needed.

@Ford Motor Company DO NOT change this functionality!!!!

I do the same - press button to fold pulling in - locking and unlocking doesn't move them. After I back out, I unfold. Agree, this is a perfect behavior.

Mine has just started doing this. It's random and annoying. I assume it was after an update I'm thinking 6.5. Just got 6.8 last night maybe it's fixed.

From my memory, if one of the mirrors gets bumped or moved out of position, the auto feature won’t work, the solution being to manually operate them as you did just now. It’s happened a couple of times to me.
