Just noticed this weekend a few changes to BC on my 2024, drove about 100 miles with BC:
  • Dash now has lane change animation when auto lane changing.
  • Much improved lane keeping stability, virtually no wiggling of the steering wheel. I had much more confidence staying hands free, especially in sharp turns.
I did not receive any OTA notifications on Ford Pass or Sync4A.

Is this BC1.4? I believe truck came with BC1.2. Any way to check? I have a FORScan OBD Adapter but am not very familiar with it as I only used it once to enable my trailer brake.

I sure wish there was a way to find out what version BC my Lightning has. We're going to take it out of town for the first times next month, and the whole BC and charge on the road things are going to be our first. (Other than the 25 miles I got to use BC driving home from taking delivery on 10/1)

When you say “auto lane changing” are you tapping the turn signal to tell truck you want to change lanes? I have BC 1.4 and I have to tap the stalk and then it makes the change by it self.

Sorry, it still requires a half tap of the turn signal to initiate the lane change. But the instrument cluster display now shows an animation of the lane change progressing. I didn't previously get that.

How is a stalk tap delivered? Side or end of stalk. I should imagine on the side in the direction you want to turn...

Side, just the same as turn signal. Up for right down for left.

It's the same as if you were doing a quick signal where you just move the stalk but don't click it all the way. Normally this produces 3 blinks (can be changed using FORScan). When using Blue Cruise (1.2+), it will blink until the lane change is complete and doesn't require manually returning the stalk to the neutral position like if you clicked the stalk all the way. True automatic lane change won't be available until v1.5 which may be 2050 at Ford's current rate.

The lane change animation is there on my 2024 Mach E but not (not yet?) on my 2022 Lariat. The rest of the UI is, after the batch of updates I received in the fall, identical, and I do have auto lane change. I wonder if another BC update is coming.

Lane keeping is quite good on both vehicles while auto speed reduction is uselessly trigger-happy (and often wrong, reacting to warning signs for curves as if they establish a new speed limit etc.) on the F150 and only quite bad on the MME.

I have received all of the other great updates, but my Blue Cruise is unchanged from when I took delivery in April 23.

Not 1.4, it would be 1.3.

My 23 does not show that little animation. I used BC yesterday and it was not there. I checked FDRS and I’ve got no updates available. So who knows. 🤷‍♂️

2024 trucks shipped from the factory with BC 1.2, so the animations for lane change should have been there since day one. It is very unlikely that you got a BC specific OTA. If you did, you would be the first Ford vehicle outside of the 2022-2023 Mach E's to get it.
