Supercharger adapter works at Superchargers...I’m at my sisters house trying to use her Tesla charger with my adaptor.
Button on side of truck went blue but App says charging error.
Do I have to register my truck with her charger or something?
Or can I only use this with a supercharger?
TeslaTap is the #1 adapter and the only adapter made in the USA.Assuming you are referring to a Level 3 DCFC adapter which then only will work on Level 3 (superchargers).
AC Level 1/2 requires different adapter. There are several on the market. I use a Tesla Tap.
I had a very expensive TeslaTap fail from water infiltration, just like the QC corded adapters and the cheap Chinese Hansshow adapters. I also was not impressed at all by the way TeslaTap actively marketed their 80A adapter for other vehicles with 80A onboard chargers, then turned around and started marketing a "Lightning" adapter at a nontrivial markup, with some dubious rationale about continuous current draw and heating, a little while after the first Lightning trucks shipped. it's a much better quality product than the generic Amazon junk or the Hansshow which is clearly made to look just like the TeslaTap but is much worse, but the A2Z adapter seems, to me, to be the best on the market in terms of build quality, watertightness, heat dissipation, and cost, and I prefer it to the TeslaTap at this point.TeslaTap is the #1 adapter and the only adapter made in the USA.
The other adapters available are made in China.
The correct TeslaTap for a Ford Lightning is available at TeslaTap MINI - Lightning Version
The A2Z NACS-J1772 adapter is just a Chinese adapter with their name on it.I had a very expensive TeslaTap fail from water infiltration, just like the QC corded adapters and the cheap Chinese Hansshow adapters. That's not correct. A2Z designed the adapter and then had it built. They did extensive testing, which is explained on their website. The A2Z NACS-J1772 adapter is just a Chinese adapter with their name on it.

We are not talking about the DC adapter we are talking about the AC adapter. That's not correct. A2Z designed the adapter and then had it built. They did extensive testing, which is explained on their website.
Having a little experience with having things made in China, hard to say who licensed (or copied) whom or which might be unauthorized excess production of what. Also there's the question of how much quality control you're paying for.The A2Z NACS-J1772 adapter is just a Chinese adapter with their name on it.

Gen 1 will work fine, Just need a TeslaTap and the settings correctly set in the Wall Connector. If the Tesla home charger (High Power Wall Connector) is old enough (1st generation) it won't charge our trucks at all. Not many of those left out there though.
