Went on a short trip this weekend going 260km. Started at 98% and had to add about 30kw and then still limp it home.
This morning I had a 90% charge according to the truck. Scanner said 82% with 75kw.
I was blaming the temperature (around freezing all week) when it seemed off in my daily driving last week. Clearly not the issue.
2023 with an SR. Thanks for any help.

You're not understanding the data. There are two SOC fields. One is SOC displayed, which shows the SOC displayed which is based on the USABLE BATTERY., the other is SOC actual of the ENTIRE battery. Ford reserves part of the battery.

Previously the it would charge to 92 kw (actual battery is 96). I am not going to get anywhere near 92 now. SOH is shown at 98.5%

38,000km on the truck. Almost all charging has been done at home.

Totally different issue. I explained the difference between the fields. Battery is actually 98kWh, not 96. Full size is 107.6. So your 82% of 107.6 = 88.2kWh. 90% of 98 = 88.2. Same number.

Now, as to how much ENERGY the battery will show you, that is very dependent on TEMPERATURE of the battery. If the battery is near 77 degrees, it should show you those numbers x .985 (SOH). If it's colder, it will show less. Showing 75kWh is quite a bit off though. Can you post your Car Scanner screen showing all this?

I had just checked moments before your reply. Photo is attached. Truck had been sitting for two hours before I turned it on for ten minutes to rescan. Battery is displayed in the truck at 88%. To me that says it will be at 84kwh with the 100% charge. Thanks

Battery is basically just above freezing. Get it warmed up and you should see it go up quite a bit.

This past winter, with battery temp just below 60, I was seeing 124kWh on my ER. That jumped to 127 in low 80s. That was with SOH at 100%.

If you then charge to 100% and let the cells balance, it should eek out some more.

Charging to 100% seems to get it back. It is at 93kwh this morning. Hopefully it charges to 90% tomorrow when set to 90%. Thanks

Still something wrong here. The battery is at 93kwh when fully charged but only 72kwh at 90%. That is the percentage displayed in the truck when it is charged to 90% or ran down from 100-90.

There are a small handful of us on here that are all having similar issues with the SOCd and pack kWh not being within the normal “range”. For me it is typically 7%-9% off regularly, with some not getting the full kWh at 100% SOCd regularly. Seems our BMS’ are like the one that Left Kyle from Out of Spec stranded….
