Great write up. Gives me more confidence in towing my boat this summer (180km one way). Fast chargers are on the route but why stop if you can avoid it :)
I went to a couple of dealers who said they had “stock” but after calling them a talking to their parts departments it was clear they didnt. Frustrating.
So after calling 3 ford dealerships in Canada and asking them to order the NACS to CCS1 for me with no success I was beginning to wonder what’s up and why this adapter is such a unicorn in Canada. Got a reply from Ford Canada today (pasted below) but seems like we are not going to get them...
I’d say I’m almost identical to this. Charged to 95% on sat, drove 360KM, battery showed 7% 24km remaining. Temp between 2’C and 5’C, moderate cross winds, average speed was 98kph, all 80 and 100kph speed limit roads.
Took it to my dealer today, they confirm the FHCM (Front Hatch Control Module) needs to be replaced. Will bring the truck the back next Monday to swap it out. They think it shorted out. Will post an update here after its replaced (fingers crossed).
I did not, there were not FHCM updates available. These were all of the updates originally available. The frunk was open the whole time as I had a charger connected to the 12V.
My frunk appears to be dead (can open an close manually) but remote, button on dash, or on screen does nothing. No beeps, not noises, no nothing. When I load up FDRS the FHCM (front hatch control module) module is grey, and shows not responding. Tried pulling the battery terminals for 15min...
