Out of curiosity, I tried lane centering while towing my 21ft (bumper to hitch) single axle travel trailer. Same results as op described. I suspect results would be slightly better with dual axle trailer as the single axel has always been a bit more touchy regarding sway.

I had power folding tow mirrors in the 2017 Silverado 1500 I had before my F150. I really liked them. I'd say that they really didn't get in the way much. For the rare narrow drive-through and every automatic car wash, having the power-fold option was really helpful.
