I just heard about the recall and am happy to get the updates posted above. I am also going out on a short trip soon and will be hoping for no problems, but knowing that the intermittent brake problem is software really helps! I will reboot the truck a few times if I have a problem - I was...
Yes, nice fix. Since the lights work, the 7-pin connection is not a problem. As you said, you have isolated the problem to the Ford Controller software?), and had to fix it yourself.

My update: I recently took my trailer on a short trip and had no problem with brake controller so it remains intermittent (2 'no trailer brake' problems in last 7 tows). I am still waiting for a Ford "customer experience specialist" to contact me after being given a case number.
Fluffer... you are right it wouldn't hurt, but my dual blade connector is molded to its cable which runs to a patch box mounted on the trailer frame. I am reluctant to change the cable (neatly run with many ties), but I made a test cable with connectors and a patch box in the middle to isolate...
I have the dual blade connector on my Escape Trailer. Although I did test that every connection worked (except the brake control) and I have manipulated the dual blades to improve contact. I suspect both hardware and software contribute to the intermittent failure, but I'm also curious if...
I also have this trailer brake problem, and just found this thread. I have a 2021 HEV F150 and pull a ~3500 lbs Escape trailer. I have had two occurrences of the brakes not working, one started working while towing and the other started after a fuel stop (and shutdown/restart).
On my '21 hybrid Lariat, there is a switch to turn off the 12" center screen, and the drivers display can be lowered in brightness. Sorry I don't have photos. But the truck still turns on/off periodically which will draw unwanted attention. FYI, I also have a domestic fridge which is...
Thanks to autononmous for the July post regarding the over power detection. Do you know for sure that the system will not rip at lower amps? Because I'm pretty certain I was only drawing 20 amps or less from my small trailer (no A/C or microwave running). I agree the powerboost system is...
I have used a similar adaptor to run my Escape camping trailer from the 240 outlet. It draws from circuit B. In general it worked fine, with it on about 4-6 hours per day. The truck was pretty quiet, but I still liked to turn it off during quiet times. I used less than a quarter tank over 3...
