Those release notes were from my Mach-E. I was replying to somebody in a different thread about the APIM being updated with the new symbols and somebody asked what else was updated. I guess the Administrator thought it deserved its own thread.
Will they know you're charging with a 3rd party adaptor? Probably not, after the approved ones are in the publics hands more.
Will Tesla hold you responsible if they can prove you were using an unapproved adaptor and damage occurred to their charger? They could. Same way they could not accept...
You can buy a mobile charger, cheaper and better, than what Ford sells it to you for, and you can get a better spray in liner from Line-x with a lifetime warranty. But you can't add Max Tow after the fact.
I know what I would do.
A 6.8 Million dollar interest free loan. Not bad.
I've learned my lesson. I won't be an early adoptor again. I'll wait until the initial wave wears out and pick one up at a discount.
I'd look in junkyards first. I can't imagine the parts from Ford will be cheap.
And keep in mind, if you want a motorized tailgate and don't currently have one, you're looking at changing wiring harnesses out and FORSCAN changes.
I have no animosity toward Tesla. I appreciate everything the company has done to pave the way for EV's. When our Mach-E options term is up, I'd like to get a Model-Y Performance. And I'm a Ford employee. I just feel that if they want to be the EV gas stations of the USA, they need to adapt...
