Actually yes, they connected me to the BEV team and that helped deal with an issue I had with a crappy dealer. And for me, the BEV team is very good at being proactive and following up.
Great idea! In my case, I just checked and for the station that didn't work for me, there are many successful non-Tesla check-ins. Just bad luck for me that day!
For me, KISS:
Home L2 charge to 90% - I want the range and options for whatever may come my way the next day.
CCS fast charge to 80% max unless I'm in a charging desert and need more range, but it is VERY slow charging once it hits 80% SOC - plus this need is unlikely now with access to the...
I had my very first Tesla station error the other day. It was a very busy station and I couldn't try another charging unit. I did try to turn off the Ford plug-and-charge, and use the Tesla app (my preference anyway), and it still didn't work. So likely a faulty unit/cord/card, etc. I went to a...
Best option is the free/subsizied one you get from your utility, if they have a program for that. Mine offered the ChartPoint one, I had mixed feelings about that company... but I do like that it has a holder where I plug in the charging head so it doesn't just dangle around and fall. I'm not a...
I hear you, range anxiety is THE big issue, even for the early adopters. Do yourself a favor and go and buy your own Tesla adapter, problem solved (mostly).
For me, from the time I tap my watch to the time the doors actually unlock... well most of the time I'm already at the truck. I would love it to get faster...
Or you can just plug it in with the USB cable. You get better sound quality that way, anyway. And yes you have to pull out your phone, you don't get the convenience, etc etc etc.... so it's a question of reliability vs. convenience. At least when it's connected by cable, it will charge.
If you want max amps, you might be able to have your electrician pull off a breaker right from the mains, and avoid your in-house electrical panel altogether. I had to do that because my house is on a solar panel co-gen plan, and I wanted my EV charger to be on the very nice EV plan... so I...
Thanks for highlighting this. The email landed in my junk folder, i never would have seen it without this forum. I was wondering why my brother's A2Z adapter for his Rivian looked different than mine, now I know he has the gen2.
I use ABRP for longer trips that require multiple stops for charging, combined with an ODBC Bluetooth adapter to pull the SoC into ABRP. It works tremendously well, as ABRP also shows you the availability of the chargers at the next stop. Suppose you see it getting busier as you get closer. In...
Just received mine yesterday. Order 16005. Seems very nice and high quality compared to the A2Z one I purchased a few months ago (not that it matters, I appreciate a robust one that works!) Although it doesn’t come with a nice case like the A2Z one. So now I have a good backup!
My wife gets some motion sickness in our Lightening. Turning off 1PD helps a lot. I also wish that the suspension was a bit tighter, as medium speed rolls can get a big mushy and a little bouncy.
Yes we have grown accustomed to going to the phone list, toggling off CarPlay and turning it back on. And when my son is in the front seat, he just resorts to plugging in since he’s always holding his phone anyway.
