https://www.motortrend.com/news/national-electric-code-revision-threatens-ev-charging/
In 2020, the national code started requiring GFCI protection on 240-volt plug receptacles. This now moves GFCI breakers to hard wire chargers resulting in better chance of nuisance trips.
Curious if anyone here runs a company fleet vehicle that they bring home in the evening.
- are you expected to charge at home or public chargers?
- are the electricity costs reimbursed by the company?
- do you need a specific charger or does the truck log electricity use?
- any downsides of...
I heard the PRO model is available to consumers in Canada now? No pricing on Ford.ca. Anyone have any additional info? Wondering if this includes the extended range battery and if the pro extended range comes in under $70k to qualify for federal ZEV rebate?

Sounds like LFP batteries may make it into 2024 SR models. This would be a perfect opportunity for Ford to also add a heat pump to make up for the potential capacity loss!

"The NMC 532 chemistry Dahn has been testing promises another leap forward in battery technology. However, cars donāt need to last 100 years, and they donāt need to...
To those that have been driving a SR truck for a while, have you ever needed those extra 80 miles? I have an XLT reserved and I'm having a tough time justifying the massive jump in price.
is the American flag lightning bolt on the tailgate not included with Canadian models? I've seen it missing in a few Canadian YouTube videos. I always thought it looked cool. maybe someone could fab up a Canadian version?
Any lightning owners in here thinking about selling their truck and going back to a gas pickup? Seems pretty rare for EV car drivers to switch back to a gas car. Curious if most ev pickup truck drivers feel the same?
I'm not interested in paying $100k for a ER XLT (if I could even get one...) and would like to know if anyone in Canada has been successful selling their reservation to their dealer?
If anyone is planning on getting a truck cap on their lightning, I'd love to see a range comparison before and after. Wondering if a more aero option like the aero x makes more sense for EV trucks.
Figured it might not be a bad idea to create a thread specifically for Canadians since the pricing and options are a bit different than the American version. For anyone that may have missed it, here's the Canadian build and price PDF. (Make sure to open with Acrobat. doesn't seem to work well...
I'm guessing the advertised 2000lb payload capacity will only be available on the pro with short range battery. do we know the weights of the batteries? what is the expected hit on payload with a higher end model with heavy items like extended range battery and moonroof?
