Is it a CarPlay thing, or do I not know where the setting is:
Ring/message volume when the phone is connected to CarPlay is way too loud.
Also, I discovered from the other day, when merely connected to the truck as a phone (no CarPlay), that this is a problem.
It seems to be the same volume as...
...be rebooted once in a while.
Today CarPlay wouldn't connect.
Usually, a few taps and things get going.
Not this time, and of course I was on an hour long drive.
Then the drive back, usually with a restart of the truck CarPlay gets fixed.
Nope.
Now another hour drive.
Finally I did what I do...
You = my truck
That clicky feeling = the haptic feedback on a garage door (iHome?) button.
I use 2 buttons frequently.
1 lost the haptic feedback and is a mushy push.
Has anyone dealt with this?
Not a big enough deal to leave my truck at the dealership.
My frunk is well organized.
I have my tennis bag, my pickleball bag, and a container for the excess BS that comes with those sports (hats, shoes, towels, etc).
As if 2 racket sports isn't enough, I've returned to golf.
This week I updated my 20 year old driver...
and...
I decided to organize the...
I spent the weekend at a sporting event where I had people, multiple times ask me about the truck.
I was doing my part, for @Ford Motor Company in being a brand and EV ambassador.
Everyone who asked and looked and talked thought everything was simply nifty...as we already know.
Then when...
A simple observation:
I happen to be in Park City, UT earlier this week.
Not paying much attention, but the number of Rivians here is...surprising(?).
I easily see at least 3 a day.
I've seen 2 Lightings.
I noticed at the Carl Malone Ford dealer there appears to be 3 Lightings on the lot.
That...
My usual airport round trip, which is 95% highway, uses about 70% charge.
This is based on owning the truck a year and doing this trip 2 to 5 times a month.
I don't skimp on the speed and I run the HVAC like a normal person.
In general the truck sits at the airport a week each time.
This last...
Isn't there a place we can download our charge logs?
I know there is LightningROD and such, but I just want to download a spreadsheet.
In lieu of such, I just downloaded my electric bill for 2022 & 2023.
As 99% of my charging is at home, I think this is a reasonable comparison of kWh usage...
As my heated steering was recently activated, I'm now having my first experience with it in cold weather.
There is something amusing with how cold the steering wheel buttons feel when the steering wheel heat is on.
The dealership grabbed my truck to fix/add heated steering.
they said during the software update the frunk ajar module wouldn’t update. The Part is back ordered for a few weeks so now it will say the frunk is ajar and only operate manually.
has anyone had this happen?
I have about 4 recall items on my truck. Specifically: BECM, rear lightbar, Heated steering wheel, dash mat thingy, & BCCM.
Before Thanksgiving I had called to see if they'd work on these while I was gone.
Not all parts where in.
I was getting ready to make the same call, but instead today I...
I think it is worth noting that in the recall notice where it says:
"Parts are now available to repair your vehicle"
That doesn't actually mean you dealer has the parts.
More specifically that doesn't mean *my* dealer has the parts.
Fortunately, they'll now call me when all the parts are in...
I'm not really a fan of the lane keeping/warning.
I have it set to the "lowest" setting (warning?) where the steering wheel vibrates as you approach the lane edge.
I discovered on my drive home the other day that you can actually "shut down" the lane warning entirely.
Turn on cruise control...
Situation:
I just returned from the airport. The truck sat for 10 days NOT plugged in.
About an hour drive home.
Plugged in and scheduled to start at midnight.
About an hour later I got 2 messages that were the same:
"plug in to maintain 12v battery"
then a bit later:
"electrical system...
Does anyone know the location of the horn & which panels would need to be removed to replace it?
I've purchased one of those super loud "truck" horns on the internet and need to install it.
A bit off topic...
I decided to rent a Model Y last week on a trip.
I thought I might avoid having to fill up before bringing it back (wrong)
and figured I wouldn't drive far enough to have to charge (wrong).
We also own an S, so I am familiar with the world of Tesla.
Let's just say I won't...
Box has been opened, but nothing removed except the manual...and it is back in the box.
Going with a Tesla J1772 since we already have a Tesla wall charger and the two will load share vs needing to do more electrical work than we desire.
