You most likely need the advanced IPMA, and the optical camera wire going from the IPMA to the high mount stop lamp. That and some forscan programming, and it should work.
As the title states, I bought a 3 day license to FDRS to help with a retrofit I am doing. I already got what I needed from it, but I have 72 hours left on the license. If anybody needs wiring diagrams, part numbers, repair procedures, etc, let me know and I will see what I can do. I can also...
I don't know if you were asking the OP or I if we have the right cover, but BAK told me mines right. I had to give them the model/serial number to get warranty parts. I've contemplated switching to a cheap Amazon cover until I get my topper, but given how much I hate the x4S, it still seems to...
Nope, they claim that it only needs shims on "some trucks". Basically, instead of saying, "We're dumb and made it the wrong size and don't want to foot the costs to fix it properly", they're saying that Ford beds aren't the same width every time. But they'll keep charging their premium prices...
He's not alone. I too went with the x4S and it has been a nightmare. Day one I realized it doesn't fit the width of the bed properly, and their solution was to throw washers from the hardware store between the rails and the truck bed. Uhhh, $1,300 cover and I have to shim it with a bunch of...
Although I am not sure of the official rated weight capacity of those tie-downs, I can tell you that they hold quite a bit. I regularly use those to secure loose items in my bed, and I have tightened ratchet straps to the point of the straps snapping (went over some iffy railroad tracks), and...
No. The spreadsheet states that unplugging the module is only required if changing from a "5" to a "1", NOT a "4" to a "0". Or maybe this is worded wrong, and unplugging the module is required either way?
In regards to disabling the pedestrian alert speaker, has anybody done this successfully, going from a value "4", to a value "0"? I tried it on mine (has a 4 currently), but the speaker is still beeping in reverse as well as making the noise in drive. Any ideas?
It was a PDF file from the place pictured below. I got the manual and the wiring diagrams. After you order, you send them the vin to your truck, and they make it custom for you, specifically tailored to your exact truck. It will be a large file (mine was 1.1GB), and there are a lot of pages...
Fun fact, the plugs in the bed and cab of the truck were designed to grip the prongs of a cord tighter, to prevent them from falling/vibrating out while driving. Ford thought of everything! Lol
I'm not sure. I'd be shocked if it were pads, but I use my truck commercially, and tow heavy if not maxed out every couple weeks. I'm sure my breaks won't last more than 40-50,000 miles but 15-20,000 miles seems way early.
Did you try changing the settings on the unit? The ramp time, current curve, etc are all programmable. Maybe ramp it by 1 second instead of 2? Mine has been working flawlessly.
