Thank you for everyone's input during this stressful situation, the community support has been greatly appreciated.
As an update, the Lighting will be left at the dealer and we have almost finalized a plan to continue on our journey, with a rental.
To best protect everyone, we have been...
Update:
We are at a loss right now…
Doctors: Went to Urgent care. They said any damage from breathing in toxins is what it is now, nothing that can be done, but current breathing sounds okay and the smokey/burnt plastic feeling in my mouth/throat and small cough should wear off quickly.
The...
Hope not! I cannot thank the Yonkers FD more. They prepped the hose, but investigated before spraying. They identified the fire and used the huge handheld extinguishers to put it out opposed to the hose.
Yeah exactly why I always carry one. But my panic was this was a HVB fire, and I knew where extinguisher was, but would've been useless in that. I know how loaded seat materials are with retardants now. I'm quite flummoxed how the hole is so big and if it was this hot, how no sensor caught it.
Good point. @mods, can you help me tone down the title? I do want others to know in case there is something wrong and this isn't a fluke, but the title definitely has adrenal fueled "my car just had a fire behind it :)". I am going to the dealer, but I've worked with many dealers and I need to...
Thank you! Arrived at the hotel many hours later than anticipate, but am up now as I've been restless from this whole thing.
They seem good, but our dogs are family (never wanted to be a crazy dog person, but here we are :)). May be overkill to go, but I've always been told electric fumes/smoke...
WARNING! DO NOT USE REAR SEAT HEATERS. My back seat caught fire and burned, causing panic and a FD and PD response. To dispel any FUD– THIS WAS NOT AN EV FIRE!
If anyone knows anyone who can help at Ford, please, please, please put me in contact.
Its about 5am so going to catch some sleep...
Not to go off topic, but I am deep into catching up on the threads on this topic, and didn't want to creat yet another.
Our Pro should be delivered this week and am trying to have my ducks in a row.
My understanding is we should be eligible for:
-$7,000 Private offer (which should be a...
I'll have to look at exact model, but new Hakka Studs, I am assuming 9s?
They went on 2 weeks back. Driving comfort is fine. But I have to say studs RUIN the amazing serenity in the truck. I have run studs on many cars and the noise never bothered me. But the first 5 minutes in the truck and I...
Right there with you; I thought it was just me being spoiled by powered charge doors.
I feel I am going to break it, especially in this cold. Never opens the first time, then I feel like I am pressing too hard. And I don't think I've ever closed it right on the first press.
So we just got home and here is return data - very similar results.
Variables:
-Set cruise for 65-70 whole way home, except for 55 on 55mph highways (~15 miles). Never over 70 except maybe a quick pass.
-Winds were very calm (look to be under 10mph max on route).
-Elevation change was ~...
Thanks for the data point. This is why I posted; I think many new EV drivers are going to be surprised, especially if driven like they drove their gas vehicle. The range loss can be stark, and seemingly small differences make a hug eimpact (65 vs 70 mph, 10 vs 25 degrees, etc).
My hope is...
Those sound like incredible efficiency numbers and awesome for you; getting a ton of range and saving $$$! Looks like we both have a decent set of miles and got trucks at the same time. 2.1 vs 2.7 is a big difference and I bet that attributes to the driving style you have.
We always treat our...
