Indeed, that's why I started this thread. I have been using PPO for a few years and have never had an issue (other than having to have the truck "ON" the whole time...but that's another issue). But lately, after an update, while using it I got the warnings that it was approaching its shutdown...
Yes, I believe you have to charge there first....kind of strange.
Through all this I did change my home charger as someone suggested I might have never set it up. I had, but did notice it had the wrong address. I decided to try to correct it, but to do that I had to first delete it. But when I...
Indeed! At least, as I said previously, I am fortunate that I have a EA charging station within 3 miles and can set my "reserve" not to 10 miles but to the nearest charging station.
Now I'm wondering if, as I said above, this might have had something to do with that motor/pump running during...
Indeed! And, as I said, I've used the PPO for a few years now (actually why I bought this truck over Rivian and others) without any issues (other than having to leave the truck "on" for hours). And, I always had the "reserve" set at 10 miles. Oh, and I always keep a battery maintainer on the...
Oh, and yes, I too would like to get PPO to work with the truck off and am waiting for that update. I seem to have trouble getting updates....even with the truck at a fairly high SOC and my 12v on a battery maintainer. But I didn't realize it still too a FORscan modification. I've been staying...
Indeed, Ford just hasn't figured out software and OTA updates. I'm used to Tesla....everything just works!!!! Though they've had much more time to perfect it. It's said that Tesla is really a software company that also builds cars....whereas Ford is a car company that does some software. Keep me...
Indeed, the update was for a lot of stuff that I don't have....Sirius and Blue Cruise etc.....why did we even get this? I have none of it! Is this what caused this change in my "reserve" setting function in PPO? Did it cause, yet to discover problems, as well? Is this just a "one off" on my...
Thanks.
Shutdown timer is off, and my home charger is set correctly. I did go in and delete and then re-add my home charger...didn't make a difference. In fact, now, I can't use PPO with the reserve setting at 10 miles (the minimum allowed) at all. It says reserve has been reached and won't even...
Hmmm, interesting thought. However, interestingly enough, I am using PPO WHILE I am charging with a home charger, albeit a 120v 1.1 kW offgrid solar charger so I'm taking power out at a rate of more than 3x that of going in. So, I'm AT home! But I will have to look at the "Home Charger"...
True, but 10 miles vs 90 miles is a big difference. This issue seems like more than a GOM problem. I'm just glad there's a charging station close enough that that option worked for me. If the nearest charging staion was 100 miles away....could I even use the PPO?
So, I'm using PPO to charge another vehicle at about 4kW....works fine...done it several times previously (and actually one of the reasons I bought the Lightning). But this time was different: worked fine for a few hours, but then I got a notice from the app saying I was approching the PPO...
Seriously??? Is this actually a "powertrain Module Update"? It's supposedly a "feature Enhancement" for BlueCruise (which I don't even have!!! Why am I getting this?) This is a pump (?) on the rear differential. I would maybe expect fans and coolant pumps to run, but this?.....not sure what this...
I got an update today for "Feature Enhancement" which apparently was supposed to be only for BlueCruise 1.4 equipped vehicles only. My Lightning is a 2023 Pro SR and does not have BlueCruise so I don't know why I was getting it. It took an hour to install, but the worst part was the truck was...
Yes, this thread has conflated two different issues. The original issue was that: In order to run PPO you have to leave the truck turned on, started and "running" the whole time of use (at least on the 22's & 23's)! This is frustrating, irritating, and a waste of precious electrons. Who came up...
This is fantastic!!! Well, it's a start anyway. I was soooo disappointed after buying my truck that to use PPO I had to leave the truck ON the whole time (often overnight) and had to turn OFF everything possible trying to minimize wasted power. What an absolutely dumb design!!! I expected them...
I understand. But I certainly don't agree. As in any situation, it depends on the circumstances. I've always lived my life taking care on myself and my own whenever possible. If it's not safe to do so, then back away. Perhaps times have changed and it's the end of rugged individualism and self...
You are certainly correct.....getting notified as soon as possible is very important.....getting everyone out is paramount as is calling 911. I don't know why some in this discussion don't see that as happening FIRST.
So after all are out and 911 has been called, is there anything I can do to...
Was stated earlier....evacuate and call 911 FIRST!!! Then assess possibility of moving truck..... prioritizing safety. And of course smoke/heat alarms are a must and sprinklers would be great. This all certainly applies to any vehicle fire in a garage.
