I'm surprised at all the curmudgeonly response to 1PD. Personally, I love it in all types of conditions including snow and ice. If you're concerned about the braking being too aggressive you just release the pedal more slowly. On the rare occasion I drive an ICE car I really miss 1PD. However...
I'm very excited about this too. My hope is they ditch the CCS connector in 2025. A CCS to NACS adapter could be used if needed for J1772 or CCS. However, if Tesla and Ford only have NACS that should be a big push for everyone else to follow. The NACS connector is just a much better experience.
I'm in CT on Eversource not happy about increase, but it makes no difference for me regarding having the Lightning. I love my Lightning because it's far better than a gas/diesel vehicle. I don't miss twice weekly visits to the gas station, oil changes, the smell of gas and exhaust. The driving...
Got my Lariat ER in early August, have over 6,800 miles now and no issues with other than reported above (app needs improvement and carplay connection is intermittent). Now to find some wood to knock on. :)
There are cheaper options available, search Amazon for EVSE Level 2 to get some ideas. You can also check YouTube for reviews (highly recommend State of Charge/Tom Moloughney).
My wife and I miss not having youtube/netflix on the Lightning like we do in our Tesla. Not just when charging, since we only occasionally road trip. However there seem to be many other times when we're waiting in the car and sharing a video on the central screen is much better than using a...
I noticed it dropping out at the toll cameras in both NY and MA. At least the lane keeping system stays active, you just need to put your hand on the wheel for a minute to pass the toll. Still annoying, but far from the biggest annoyance.
Just picked up my Lariat today. Was on pins and needles until I drove it off the lot about some hidden charge, but none. Paid MSRP, no add-ons, no games. Thank You very much to Mitchell Selig Ford in Windsor, CT and @FordMotorCompany!!!
Based on what I know right now, I'm likely to trade for a Cyber Truck as soon as I can. Resigning myself to live with the Lightning shortcomings vs Tesla until the CT comes. However unless there are dramatic changes I can't see passing on the CT and keeping the Lightning.
Yes, I thought the CT...
Keep watching… they switch to an ‘estimated’ 17k trailer later. The whole thing is sad, the person in the video obviously didn’t read the manual or do research. No trailer brake controller, he tries to configure the trailer on the screen behind the wheel. You never see them go into the trailer...
I use a snow blower, so I don’t know anything about plows. If you’re only doing your own driveway would a rear hitch mounted plow work? Seems like it would answer most of the concerns raised and could be easily removed when not in use...
I think this is fantastic news all-around. Tesla already has a CCS adapter they can release in the US at will, but very few are pushing for it because the Tesla charging network is so much better. Information on cost per charging station pedestal shows Tesla has a huge...
I'm aware of the 80%, I'm talking the breaker rating just to keep it simple. For example my Tesla charger requires a 60 amp breaker but is configured to use 48 amps. I've seen multiple places that the Charge Station Pro IS configurable (here is a Ford source...
I have a Tesla charge connector and a NEMA 14-50 on opposite sides in my garage. So short term I plan to use the NEMA 14-50 for the Lightning. I have a total of 100 amps available to the garage so I should be good with the Ford Mobile connector. Long term option 1 is to have an electrician...
