The reason I quit doing group discounts is because it was causing too many problems and upset customers.

I believe that you have a Lariat, I am charging a my Platinum version with an old Gen 1 unit without any issues... If the TeslaTap works on a Gen 2 at 80 amps without any problems I would look into possible issues with your Gen 1 charging station.

Usually when we hear that it will not work on a Gen I it is because the installer did not set the DIP switches or it is set at a level that the Lightning will not accept.
The TeslaTap does not change the duty cycle from the wall connector in any way. Ig load sharing works for Tesla's it should work for any EV as long as the EV accepts the duty cycle that the EVSE it putting out.
That is fine if you are using it on a portable or personal Wall Connector where you can control the amperage setting.
If you are going to use that on a Destination charger you should verify that the Destination charger is not putting out more than the adapter is rated at X 80% if you are going...
If it blowing the breaker than the setting in the Tesla Wall connector is set wrong.
The way it works is when the Wall Connector is installed the installer sets the breaker size so that the Wall Connector can tell the EV how many AMPS the EV can pull through the Pilot signal.
