What does this forum think about the new REV? Specifically that they released some of the specs today. In the release-
1.) 350 or 500 mile range from 168 or 229KWH battery packs
2.) 14K lbs of towing and 2700lbs of payload max
3.) 350KW fast charging
There is more, but those are some of the...
There are a lot of people on here functionally screaming "YES I WANT ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE BUT SOMEONE ELSE SHOULD PAY FOR IT! I am SPECIAL!"
Taxes pay for services-that's how it works. There will be new taxes on EV's because the existing tax structure (diesel/gas tax) does not apply...
I will never for the life of me understand the folks who try to 5th wheel tow with a half ton truck (not just EV's-any half ton). There is quite simply not enough payload to make it work and you will most definitely be exceeding your trucks capacities to try and tow that. I assure you you will...
I lived in Alaska for 13 years-had Blizzaks on every car I owned. Hands down the best winter tire I ever used (vs studded/other brands of syped). With that said, my F150 up there had BFG AT/KO2’s on it and did just fine too. A good set of all terrains with the “snowflake” rating will likely do...
I dont understand why folks are so wrapped around the axle about the income limit. $300K houshold income means you make more than 96% of Americans. This tax credit covers nearly everyone in the country. Additionally-saying that capping it excludes current ev buyers-again, not a valid point. The...
Respectfully, I have to fundamentally disagree with you. Ultimately these tax credits are paid for by tax payers-the idea that someone making $40K a year would be subsidizing someone making $400K a year buying a $100K EV is absurd and morally bankrupt. As far as manufacturers raising prices...
Already been encouraging my mom to get one of these, this just makes it that much better. IF this passes, that means that $20K EV’s are officially here.
Payload was a dealbreaker for me on the silverado-max payload of 1300 lbs means you are likely under 1000 with any meaningful amount of options. Its a shame-seems like a nice truck otherwise.
I am hoping someone comes in with an aftermarket battery swap option that increases capacity-and thus range. If it happens, I would keep the truck for many years as that is the only "development" that would drive me to trade up.
Agree with others that this is not as heavy as you may think-my current truck (crew powerstroke F350) weighs right at 8000 lbs empty-no issues with asphalt deformation. Point is to say a relatively mainstream vehicle (super duty) is empty about what your truck would weigh fully loaded. The...
Has anyone been able to find out if the ford charger will "play nice" with the tesla powerwalls? I.E. if they get to low use the truck as a mobile battery to get juice to transfer to the house in longer term outages where the solar may not be enough.
Pending that question getting answered, I...
The pano sunroof adds 64lbs to the weight of the truck (compared to no sunroof)-not as much as you might think but certainly not a negligible amount. Back when I bought my 2015 this info was released on official Ford literature, but unfortunately all those links appear to be dead (Ford probably...
Hello All!
Considering an F150 Lightning and now that a few of you are having yours delivered, I wanted to see if members here would be willing to share your payload rating along with the trim/options you selected. Trying to get a feel for how the various trims/battery sizes/options affect the...
