Do...not...trust...the range estimate....ever. Like @Henry Ford mentioned, it is a guess and it's often wrong. Sometimes it over estimates and sometimes it underestimates. I have 35k miles on mine, believe me and others in that you can trust the mpk number to get your own estimate. 33 miles was...
Only a couple hundred miles so far on the dueler ascent, but so far I like them. Better look, just as quiet, and efficiency seems to be very close to stock. Durability is still an unknown.
Its more likely that the problem here is the poor mobile EVSE. While the slower charging rate may not be able to keep up, it should still be supplying power.
Couple of people here are being sarcastic, there's nothing wrong with your truck. You are missing the point, I think, that we are trying to convey. Do...not....trust....the range estimate. Watch your efficiency as you drive and learn/adapt your driving habits to take advantage of an EV to...
In order to use ProPower, I seem to recall that the transfer switch needs to also switch the neutral (I'm not an electrician, smarter folk please correct me) or it will trip the truck's GFCI. As long as that's handled, it seems entirely plausible that the batteries/smart panel will work as...
The Check for Updates is where I updated mine from as well.
@TaxmanHog last I checked, the "last updated" date was still showing Oct 9th. And on the "Waiting to charge at...", mine does the same. It's always confused me and I never made the connection that it was related to when I plugged in!
Would be infinitely more useful to have an EPA rating for city/highway in miles/kWh similar to the MPG report.
For my use case in the desert, I get 2.8 city / 2.0 highway
Let the peons do their own math for range.
The EPA rated range is achievable in good weather (50-90), flat terrain, under 60mph. If any of those conditions are not met, expect less. As with ICE, a lead foot will also result in lower efficiency.
I was able to update mine to 5.8.0 last night and I'm not in any betas. I didn't explore thoroughly but it did have the new trailer light button from the other thread.
That's not how it works. Home charging is cheaper (most of the time). You get the same amount of electrons. Only difference is your recent driving affecting what it thinks your max range could be. It's a guess, and a bad one at that.
Its nice that they found an issue with the charge port and got it fixed. Do you know anyone else with an EV you could test the mobile charging cord with?
I was referring to the onboard charger, not your EVSE. With that code, I don't think the onboard charger is the issue anymore. That duck is quacking like a bad battery module. :(
I'd call the BEV hotline and start a case number before you take it in. Might help get things rolling quicker.
Sometimes a bad shifter results in this error, as well as a bum charger. I thought when it was the battery, we only had one motor operational. I can't remember for sure, but if that's the case then I'd suspect a bad charger given your report of it faulting. Fingers crossed for a speedy repair...
I wonder if your inclination sensor is off. Mine seems to work correctly, auto-engaging when there's even a slight incline. I think there's a screen where is displays or you should be able to pull that using an OBDII reader. If that sensor is working correctly but the brake is still acting...
There are a lot of us with a jack that did the job just fine. If they tested with a good jack, no reason to not assume it'll do the job for everyone else. If it failed for you, you need to let Ford know. Otherwise...ignorance is bliss.
Tires going on now. Posting this for record. All commuting to work and city trip errands over the past two months. I have a road trip this weekend to El Paso, then I'll reset to start tracking efficiency.
Edit: Couple pics from the garage. I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow.
Keep an eye on the coolant, couple reports of it going low as things settle. Also, there's a post somewhere that explains it'll take a few weeks for the BMS to fully settle in after a module replacement. Don't fret if you see your range est get a little wonky (at least more than usual).
