I would bet they are fetching pricing on fleet orders that are close to the new Pro price for retail. So yes it was a way to signal the Pro wasn't going to be a sub $50k EV Truck

Got the e-mail as well. Reserve day 9/17. Not getting my hopes up too high but I recall seeing some posts here and elsewhere that these type of e-mails came before Wave 3 orders.

First of all I think you’re right but while it’s a bit bait and switch, I don’t think it’s entirely surprising… auto makers have long used “as low as” marketing and that’s what they did here… used the Pro to advertise/market a low price but their margins are much higher on upscale trims and Pros...
This summer people are ordering MY23, so there statement is still true if people are ordering MY24 next summer… no doubt they anticipate breakage but I don’t think that is what gave them confidence in making that statement.
