  1. Compensating for Elevation in Route Planning

This is where I have landed planning road trips. Plugshare trip planner and then check elevation. Looks like a 30% reduction in range and a little larger cushion until a person has experience is probably the appropriate starting place.
  2. Compensating for Elevation in Route Planning

ABRP has leed me astray too many time for me to put any stock in it. Probably operator error but much rather hear from real world experience. So assuming a 2.0 starting point 1.4 would be a 30% hit.
  3. Compensating for Elevation in Route Planning

I'm planning a trip into south central Colorado later in the year. I laid things out with my normal time and distance between charges and was satisfied with the route. Being from east of the Mississippi I hit the elevation change as an after though and full stop. 3000ft in the middle 300 miles...
  4. Reflections on the State of DCFC Charging in the US

I road trip from Illinois to Maryland via Morgantown WV with the EV6. There has been improvement in the DCFC station count but the greatest gain has been in spacing and redundancy. Evenly placed charging vs stopping for 30% here only to have to charge to 95% to get to the next stop. As far as...
  5. Sunrun (RUN) shares getting hammered

Here is a break down of USDA spending by sub-component off a web site called USA spending .gov. I didn't do any more "fact checking" but Im assuming these are close. The food and nutrition figure would be food stamp/ SNAP probably school lunch programs. the FSA number would include a program CRP...
  6. Odd SiriusXM/Carplay/Ford interaction.

I'm trying to use the Sirius XM app on my 16pro iPhone thru CarPlay on my 23 Lighting Pro (small screen). The phone connected wireless and CarPlay comes up no problem. I access the Sirius XM app no problem. It loads and I'm able to see past stations and listen to them. The problem is trying to...
  7. Got a dealer PPI today. Modules need updates?

I must be getting old because that does sound like something my dad or grandfather would have said
  8. Got a dealer PPI today. Modules need updates?

There’s a reason it ended up with Carvana
  9. Fun simple rescue operation (of a F-350)

The Lighting has a couple of things in its favor, smooth application of torque and better weight distribution front to back. Even with stock tires it is impressive.
  10. Liking my Lightning... the ultimate compliment.

My 90 year old uncle makes it in the front passenger seat by himself. A little slow but he handles it. My 88 year young Aunt jumps right into the back seat.
  11. Lightning vs Rivian - new truck buyer…

Interesting how several current F150 Lighting owners have owned a RT1. I'm curious how many people have went the other way started with the Ford, sold it and bought a Rivian.
  12. Lightning vs Rivian - new truck buyer…

I have owned both the RT1 and Lighting Pro SR. I still actively grain farm so my use case is tailored for the Ford. I ordered the Rivian almost on day one and had a lot of emotional ties and forum time invested in its success. What a nice vehicle it turned out to be, but I just couldn't bring...
  13. Apple Watch app *finally* updated!

You Guys got one on me. I didn't even know there was a watch app:)
  14. I know this is a Ford forum but.

It want so much that they advertised. Its the fact that they choose to use the Blazer EV in the Cup race, highest profile, and the Vet for the 2nd tier.
  15. I know this is a Ford forum but.

I thought it was really interesting that Chevy chose to have there Blazer EV SS as the Dayton 500 series pace car and the Corvette Stingray as pace car for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series. I'm assuming the decision was no accident.
  16. New EV charging stations in Iowa halted, {POLITICS}

I would like to point out that to the best of my knowledge, the thread title not withstanding, no state or federal law or executive order precludes the permitting, construction, or operation of a new DCFC facility in Iowa that is funded by a private or cooperate entity. I suggest that the title...
  17. Ford’s F-150 Lightning is falling behind Tesla’s Cybertruck in deepening EV crisis

As of 3:54 CT F is down 5.4% in after hours trade. Pretty much al you need to know.
  18. 2023 Ford Lightning, 4,000 miles - 5 out of 6 lug nuts and studs sheared off of the right front wheel!

Go Back and read the OP post: 4000 mile's of driving with no tire manipulation Only 1 stud unaffected by the time OP reached Dealership "The studs had sheared off, not just missing lug nuts." "There was no damage to the wheel to indicate loose lug nuts" The studs failed. Most likely explanation...
  19. I love this truck but GD!

Don't feel like the you are the only one or doing something wrong. I watch the same numbers in those temps. Unfortunately it's the nature of the beast. There is a reason the Lighting production line is taking a break.
  20. Ford dealership DCFC.

I can tell you it didn’t show up on my plug share app a week ago. So I must not have some settings correct. Looks like you got your wish
