I'm assuming you've dealt with Ford and it went smoothly in the past. In my experience the dealers required the truck on the lot and would not provide a timeline.
The first time around I made an appointment weeks in advance. Showed up and they said they couldn't even look at it for 1-2 weeks...
I remember when people told me not to buy a Tesla because they would never give loaners. I have a lot of negative to say about Tesla but they came to my house to address issues, and when they needed to hold my 3 they gave me an S.
Owned several luxury brand cars (often flagships) in the past...
There are attorneys that work 100% free on lemon law, being paid by the manufacturer at the end. You are within the window to do this.
The dealer could have and should have helped you out. Hopefully they make it easy once the lawyer is involved and give you your money back without much delay.
Unpopular opinion(s) incoming. If you don't haul or tow there are more luxurious alternatives for the money than an EV truck. If you road trip they will also be faster.
If I were to do it again, I would go for the cheapest Lightning model possible. I'm of the opinion that the ride and noise are...
Ford killed the Lightning.
Advertised $39,999 version to gain 200k reservations. Built mostly $80k trucks, raised the price of the $40k Pro version to $56,000.
Petty dealer markups and nonsense games killed goodwill
Subpar fast charge experience. Electrify America problems were well-known...
Still seems to me like the initial $39,999 Pro Model that became $56k was responsible for killing off a lot of the enthusiasm. I know it later dropped down to $50k. Combine that with dealers pooping in the pool by greedily adding markups, and now interest rates are up.
Then normal people...
Can I just say that you have the most accurate profile picture I have ever seen. I mean, we're all just sitting in front of computer screens reading posts and thinking "what the heck is that guy even saying??" :)
Ride is definitely better with the standard battery (it's a huge weight difference), and the sunroof which is on almost every ER battery makes the cabin noisier. If you care about that and use the truck in-town SR makes a lot of sense.
In terms of range, our ER gave the range number I expected...
810 wh/mile..That's about the capacity of a large e-bike battery, good for around 100 miles of range. Considering they are both mall-terrain vehicles...
It’s hard to reduce wind noise in high profile vehicles. Nothing I’ve tried has been near the level of a full-size luxury sedan.
That said, the RAM 1500 is really good for a truck (better than the Lightning imo) and the V8 is near silent while cruising. I wonder what they might be doing better.
You're doing nothing wrong.
Instead of offering a realistic glimpse into expected range, the EPA numbers are best-case scenario. The test itself favors low speed (well under 60 mph) in a favorable temperature. Manufacturers are also free to advertise a lower, more realistic range, but few...
Some of the comments are interesting. Supporting this while also acknowledging that it’s illegal and anti-social.
I don’t think you guys have a clue how loud 150 dB is, or how different environments could amplify it further.
How would you feel if the OP (who has already acknowledged firing...
150 dB from a horn is beyond inappropriate for vehicle use. Use of this could cause instant hearing damage for pedestrians, cyclists, or people with their windows down. Not to mention how the shock could cause other vehicles to crash.
This is just unhinged.
I hope you reconsider this and...
Better approach for this point in time imo.
I owned an i3 after experiencing Electrify America on many trips with other “long range” EVs.
The i3 was easier to travel with, even despite the draconian limitations (2 gallon tank, generator could only sustain 65 before dipping into battery for help).
IMO the RAM is a nicer truck. I like the controls and the ride better even on the basic HEMI model.
If you're getting 45k on trade for the RAM you likely have a much nicer model than the base?
