I often wonder if heavy excelleration wears the drive motors down quicker. I've read that these motors can go a half million miles or more without issues.
I plan on keeping this truck until 2040.
I drive 4.5 miles from my home, to work. The road is 40 mph with plenty of traffic light stops. I go down 2 fairly small hills to get there.
Is this Miles per Kilowatt Hour reading unheard of or is this common even in such a short trip?
In 2023, I put down a layer of 10 mil plastic sheeting in the bed and over the sides, but it was a pain in the ass to offload because of the plastic. Last year and this year, I just let them dump it right in. I have a spray-in bed liner and it's holding up very well for the 2 years since it was...
Even though my scale never worked, I haul 2 yards of super moist mulch every memorial day weekend for 3 years and I've never had any issues. Just like you said... it feels like nothing was back there.
The owner of a Solar Solutions that did my tint told me that there is NO amount of tint that can be applied to the windshield. If I can remember right, he said that's a federal law for all 50 states, but I'm not sure. He said that most people put 50 percent on their windshield and that they are...
The 80 percent ceramic on the moonroof and the windshield was a complete game changer. My girlfriend already wants the same thing done to her upcoming Escape Plugin Hybrid. She loves it.
Yes, I thought the haze i sometimes get with the 35 percent ceramic on the side windows would happen, but the 80 percent on the windshield has given me zero trouble. It's exactly like it was before the tint, only I can look at the sun without getting completely blinded! But just looking at it...
I need that tint exemption!
From what I understand, a doctor can draw up something that you can show police that tells them that the tint is medically necessary.
"Officer, I get intense migraines after a while of driving without the tint." Lol
I put the tint on the moonroof and the windshield because of the UV blocking properties. The ceramic 80 percent is so light, you can't really tell that it's tinted, but it makes such a huuuuge difference in temperature inside of the cab, as well as all of those UV rays attacking your skin. It...
Looks nice. I have 35 percent on the front windows. I wanted to match the rears but I didn't want no trouble from the Po Po, lol.
That 20 percent looks perfect!
I also have 80 percent on the windshield and 80 on the moonroof.
I for one, hope that they continue making the Lightning. This is the absolute best vehicle i have ever owned! I plan on driving this truck for 8 - 10 more years and I want ford to always have parts and service available for it for decades to come. My vehicle before my Lightning was an 07 F-150...
One thing is for sure... feeling bumps in the road is much more prevalent going from 36 to 44 psi. At 36, the truck felt like new springs and shocks. It still handles the bumps well... I can just feel them more now.
The info on the sidewall says, do not exceed 51 psi. I bumped the pressure up from 36 to 43 psi. I'm going to roll at this pressure for a while and see what happens.
I've been rolling with the 36 psi recommendation. You're saying that that might be too little pressure? That's why I'm always a little skeptical about the door jam label. Over the years, there will be many different tires from different brands, makes and models. How can one sticker represent any...
For the members that switched to the Defenders, does it seem that they wear better than the Hankooks?
I have about 28k miles on the Hankooks and they are worn on the edges just like everyone is saying. I think that I'm going to score a set of the Defenders this fall, right before snow season...
