IMHO, this is a textbook example of big-corporation thinking: spend another billion to become an “AI company” and end up with yet another product nobody actually uses.
One day, when we’re all cruising around in Chinese EVs with 10k-mile range, some retired @FMC exec will realize they made the wrong call back in 2026.
But let’s be honest - with the kind of money they’ve got in retirement, they probably won’t care at all :crying:
The biggest disappointments in my Ford Lightning journey were the dealerships - and this letter :asshat:
The truck itself is amazing - I genuinely love it.
Honestly, as someone who’s done with gas engines and endless dealer visits, this letter pretty much seals it for me - my next truck will be fully electric, just not a Ford :lipssealed:
I’d honestly bet $50 that if this list could be shown directly to the FMC CEO without the layers of bureaucracy, it would be implemented in the current app or the next version.
Similar case -with 2k left before the warranty runs out.
I brought my truck to a third-party repair shop and paid $250 for a detailed inspection report (brakes, suspension, etc.).
In my case, everything checked out well except the rear brakes, which had about 20% remaining.
As a veteran of two battery failure seasons, let me share a tip: if the dealer doesn't offer you a substitute vehicle, just rent one and bill all your expenses—including fuel—directly to Ford.
Season 2 / Day 5
I just got a call from the dealer saying my truck is fixed and ready for pickup
Let's do the math: I dropped it off late Wednesday afternoon, and by Monday morning at 9 am, it's supposedly fixed—that's less than five days.
I'm not one to start conspiracy theories, but...
@GoodSam
I've reviewed your spreadsheet and have a few thoughts:
1. You've done an incredible job collecting all these cases. Wow and thank you!
2. While I'm not sure how this compares to the scale of Ford Motor Co, it seems like an overwhelming number to me. If I had this many issues with...

On a side note, my neighbor, who owns a XLT ER and is far too busy to "waste time on the internet," also has his truck at the dealership waiting for his 2nd cell replacement.
His first replacement was also in 2023. I can get his VIN and details for your records if needed.
