Ditto on using spare/snow tires - that's what I do. I'm sure I could fit a jack stand and bottle jack in there if wasn't room for a normal floor jack. You can also buy hydraulic jack stands that have a "safety lock" too...example of a cheap Chinese one below. Amazon Hydraulic Jack Stands.
