  1. Roof antennas broken housing

Ha, I figured Oahu was probably okay for chargers. I’m on the Big Island and charging is abysmal. One fast charger in Hilo and one in Kona (usually a line of cars or broken, from what I’ve been told). You see level two charges in several places, but they are nearly worthless (unless you have...
  2. Roof antennas broken housing

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping it might be a simple swap out. I suppose I’m leaning in the dealer direction.
  3. Roof antennas broken housing

Yes, I’m hoping to get reimbursed, but dealer support Hawaii is dubious (from feedback I’ve received locally from Ford owners). I thought I would do the work myself, if it’s possible…and recover the funds for the parts. There’s also the possibility that the shipping company decides not to...
  4. Roof antennas broken housing

I recently shipped my lightning to Hawaii and both antennas on the roof are now damaged. I can still connect to the car from the Ford app and things like GPS still appear to work, so at least one of the devices is still functioning. My question is, has anyone replaced these and is it a...
  5. L6-30 power outlet

Thank you, everyone, for the helpful advice. I originally was hoping to simply replace the receptacle with a 14-50, but my L6-30 is older and only has 3 wires (no neutral). If the wiring was appropriate (which is not), I could also replace the breaker with a 50A. This is what made me...
  6. L6-30 power outlet

I have an older unused 240V dryer outlet in my garage (NEMA L6-30 receptacle). Can I use an adaptor to connect my charging cable to this outlet? It appears that Parkworld makes an adaptor (63272 EV Adaptor) for this purpose, but I want to see if any one on the Forum has any experience with it...
  7. Charge Percent Indicated is Wrong

My Lightning is supposedly capable of being charged to a range of 220 miles. This works as intended. The other day, as a test, I charged to 100% and the range estimate was 218 miles…pretty close to the spec. However, as I drive the percent does not match the range estimate…not even close...
  8. Frunk open/close button

Perhaps, but one can still unlock the car doors with the phone app and/or the combo key pad on the door. Plus, one can still lock the keys in the frunk pretty easily. For one example, with the truck unlocked close the frunk with the key inside, then use the door key pad to lock the truck. I...
  9. Frunk open/close button

The issue I originally described was definitely resolved when I made sure all the doors were unlocked. So I am happy I at least understand the way it functions (on the XLT). That said, it really doesn’t make much sense to prevent the frunk hood from closing (using the button) simply because...
  10. Frunk open/close button

Interesting. The front driver’s door is unlocked, but the other doors are still locked. I’ll test with all doors unlocked vs only the driver’s door unlocked. Thanks!!
  11. Frunk open/close button

I can not reliably get my Frunk to close using the ridiculously small button under the front hood. Pressing and holding it for 3 seconds seems to work 1 time out of three. Usually nothing happens when I press it once, twice, or one long hold. If I hold it for a long time (5+ seconds), I get a...
  12. Rear view camera image obstructed during driving

That’s a shame. If it’s necessary at all, the warning should vanish after 30 seconds or so…or move to small text in the lower corner so it’s out of the way. Do you know if Ford has a suggestions email or website for making enhancements to the software? This would be an easy fix.
  13. Rear view camera image obstructed during driving

I recently had a full load of furniture in the truck bed and it prevented me from using my rear view mirror (obstructed by the furniture boxes). I turned on the camera on the center console and used this to be more aware of traffic behind me. This was very helpful in combination with the...
  14. Secure Charging at Home

Ha! Clever solution to a clear design flaw. It’s amazing Ford didn’t address this when the vehicle was in design. You’d think they would have seen what Tesla and other had already done for supporting charging at home. Thank everyone for confirming the issue and for the work-around solutions.
  15. Secure Charging at Home

Hi, I just recently got my new Lghtning XLT. I don’t have a garage, so I park my car and new Lightning outside (I have a parking area on my lot). I have a 50 amp outlet near the vehicle (also outside in a weather proof box). To my surprise, I learned that the charging cord does not lock to...
