If it were me I would get a Lightning (extended range) and install a charger at the farm assuming you can find an electrician. Otherwise it won't really work in a convenient way.
You could get the GM or Chevy truck EV. Those should make it based on all the road test I've seen of those vehicles...
I had read that Ford may have fixed the communication issues with an update recently. But the fact that the HIS is not easily found via a google search does not inspire confidence or bode well for the future of Ford's HIS.
Originally I was hoping a V2H bi-directional standard was close at hand...
I was looking to buy the HIS system and have a local electrician install it. Ford page took me to Sunrun, which has a link to Aee Solar saying that is the place to buy the HIS directly. However, the site is down/gone. Anyone know anything about it? Any other places online to buy just the...
I am interested in seeing if this can be done as well.
We are building a new home and wanted to incorporate an Enphase system. Our local utility denied the interconnection because our system was too large for the substation we are connected to based on reserved overhead required by our state...
I've owned a lot of cars over the years. BMW, Porsche, etc. with several EVs among them (Tesla MS/M3, Rivian R1T). Our 23 Lariat is extremely quiet at any speed. Probably one of the quietest vehicles I've owned and ours is on a 2" lift with Ko2 ATs.
I basically made the truck less aerodynamic and added more rolling resistance. That's going to worsen the MPGe.
Similar trucks on various YT videos state anywhere between 10%-15% loss. There's a lot of variables there but it seems realistic based on my observation, which is not scientific in...
A few months ago I traded in our 2017 Raptor. Loved that truck, first Ford truck. Towed with it, used it on our property quite a bit.
Ended up with a 2023 Lariat Lightning. In my experience the Lightning is smoother, faster, handles better and tows as well as the raptor, if not better. We drive...
The EV push is here to stay.
I have owned over 60 cars in my life. Big car nut.
But I now own all EV.
Why?
First, they fit my lifestyle. I do not tow long distances or drive far most of the year.
And, versus a comparable ICE version they:
Handle great, are faster, smoother, loads of instant...
That's a bummer to hear. We are building out on 100acres and one of the things I was excited about getting was the XP Kinetic. We have multiple trails and I really wanted a lithium powered side by side.
I think there is a way to disable the auto open/close and make the tailgate manual (in settings ). Perhaps doing that will allow you to at least open the tailgate.
Thank you for the response. Based on your reply, I made sure to check the fit of the adapter and since doing that the heat seems to be much less. There was a little play in the adapter but pushing the tesla handle into it with a little more force seemed to do the trick.
Thanks
The Rivian R1T is out now and is what I would consider midsized. You'll be waiting longer than two years for another mid sized truck to be readily available.
The R1T is a good size and it's a good looking truck, handles well. However, we had several issues with ours that service could not seem...
Update:
Finally opened up the Tesla wallcharger, it was already set at 40amps output.
Again, the handle never felt this hot charging any other EV vehicles.
I happen to have another adapter (tesla to j1772) on hand, though this one is rated to charge at 40amp/250v vs the 80amp of the first...
Thanks for the snarky reply.
I've never dealt with a lift kit and was only going by what I has read or was told.
Sorry I didn't come flying into the world with that knowledge already imbued.
Yikes. That's my build date (April '23). Perhaps yours was just a software glitch whereas earlier builds have the actual issue. At least that's what I hope is the case.
I don't think that's the case.
The salesman said they rarely do leveling kits and the sticker for regular service intervals is a Rough Country company branded sticker on the window.
Besides, the dealership is over 100 miles away and they knew I would not be coming back to them for service.
